Alex gets mad

Alex slammed the door shut

Xander stared at the closed door with an aggrieved expression, he could feel their eyes digging a hole in his back. He waited for a few minutes hoping for Alex opens the door accepting his fate his sighed and turned to his newly found colleagues.

"Hello, my name is Xander, hope we work well together" he bowed. Some replied, some jeered others mocked and made bets on his relationship with Alex and how long it would last.

'Pan' the documents landed on the table.

"Are you where to work or gossip?" She shouted, glaring at the secretaries. Immediately they silenced themselves and went back to work.

"And you do you need an invitation before you sit down and get to work?" Xander checked off someone was behind him before replying "Me?" but Tang Yi ignored him and brought the documents to his desk.

"Sort these out by categories, boss wants it done in an hour"

Xander stared at the mountains of paper work, at this moment he badly wanted to quit but he also wanted to help Alex so she gritted his teeth and went to work.

1 hour and 30 minutes later

Xander finished sorting out the documents by category and carried it into the office.

"Sis, I finished the documents. I arranged it..." he blabbered on and on about how he arranged and the grievances he suffered all morning. Alex's head remained bowed and focused on the file before her but seeing that he was showing no sign of stopping she interrupted. Who knew the boy would be laying on her sofa like he was at home.

"Tang Yi, bring all the documents from the last quarter" the intercom beeped

"I gave an hour, you used an extra 30 mins do you not put me in your eyes at all"

"You are not here to play, you are here to learn"

"Why are you all of a sudden acting like a spoilt brat, this is not the brother I remember in my memories" her eyes were misty, different emotions flickering in their depths. She was beyond frustrated. This was her first time taking a disciple, her usual way of helping was to bake the cake give it. What ever you choose to do with what she gave you was none of her business. She did it with Ella, with Daniel, with Andy Su and even with Yan Joo Woon. But what she realized was these people never studied the cake to see what it's made up of or tried to bake their own cake. What happens when the cake is finished? They come her for another.

She did not want the same for Xander, she wanted him to go through the hardships and be able to stand on his own feet. She spent months analyzing his strengths and weakness, his character and personality to get a perfect time table for him. Him acting like this was throwing her off balance and she hated it. She glanced dismissively at his bulging veins and his tightly folded fist and her heart knotted uncomfortably. It felt suffocating and that further fuelled her anger.

Every time they fought, that feeling was always there. Their fights could be counted on a single palm and all had something to do with his sudden change five years ago. Deep down she knew it had a connection with Andy Su but she didn't know what happened exactly. While the two were in deep thought Tang Yi came in with the documents, the oppressive air around the two sent shivers down her spine.

"Young miss, the documents"

Alex eyes drifted towards the huge pile "Arrange in order of importance"

"I want it here in 30 minutes, not even a second late" she sat on her chair and glared at Xander.

"Your time starts now.
