My Life in the Monsterverse (Dropped/Moved to New Book)

David Griffin is a man who just turned 22. He loves his family, but he is pressured by them all the time to do his best. He knows that they care for him, but when he tries to talk to them about how he feels about things, anything, he usually is told to just push through it, to man up, or something similar. He feels trapped because he wants to accomplish something that will make them proud, but whenever he tries to he ends up failing at it. Everyone around him says he's trying too hard, and is only hurting himself, but he just keeps pushing himself. He's also the oldest of siblings, so he has to be the example for them, so even when he's hurting he just puts on a smile and just pushes on. Well, problems start to happen with his mind, and he isn't able to cope with it and he starts breaking down, and he doesn't want his family to see him in that way, so he starts to drift away. Finally, one evening, he goes over to his family's home since his sister is bringing over a boyfriend. During the time there, the boyfriend starts joking around with the family, but for some reason, starts nitpicking at David about how even though his sister is younger than him, she has had more success than him. Well, this was the straw that broke the camels back. David blows up at his sisters boyfriend, and in the process ends up splitting them up. He feels bad already since he knows how much she loved him, and with everything swirling around his head at lightspeed of not being good enough, these next words from his family ends up driving a stake through his heart. "I'm embarrassed and tired of being related to you, I can't believe what you just did to me," his sister says, and the rest of his family is in agreement. Not being able to handle anymore, just gets up and leaves with tears not coming out because he's holding it in, and not being able to say anything with the feeling of shards of glass in his throat, drives off and tries to get home. On the way there, he finally can't hold it in anymore and starts crying on the way home. Unfortunately, with tears making it hard to see while driving, doesn't see that there was a car off to the side of him, the driver drunk. It's too late to swerve, and the drunk hits him head on in a T-bone. David died instantly, not able to process he died, and in hysterics from earlier that night, doesn't notice God sitting in front of him, with a sad look on His face. God walks over to him, hugs him and just lets David cry it out. After hours of crying, David finally is able to take in what is happening to him and looks around.

Messing With the Future Higher Ups

With David finally back on the Observatory, starts thinking of how to actually interact with the boys when they get older. 'Well, haven't really thought out a whole lot, just kinda doing whatever I want really. Hmm, do I really need to save everyone though. If I save both brothers, that means Mako Mori won't be the co-pilot when the ending comes around. The two will continue to be pilots, but I can't have that either since all Mark-3 pilots are dead by the end of the movie when Pentecost comes to find him.'

[Why not let them fight Knifehead and then save the brothers while they need it. This will use up one token of theirs, while saving the older one. Also will make sure that the Jaeger will be damaged and then be repaired like it did originally. With this it'll make sure that you don't owe them any favors and they can't pull you back anytime in the future. Remember you can still change worlds of anything that contains 'Monsters']

"....I would've come up with that idea too if ya let me...."

[Yes, you would have, but there's also a problem that I think you would like to take care of first, actually waiting that long]

"Yeah, you're right, it'll be boring just waiting for them to grow ugh...Oh, I know, I can also warn Pentecost of what to expect, and share some of his 'memories' of the future. Oh, wait, the drift. It'll show what I did wouldn't it?" As David continues to think, he decides to interfere when Stacker Pentecost saves Mako Mori, also allows him an excuse to possibly just wander around the facility if it goes right. 'Always wanted to just walk around the place, it seemed huge in the movie.'

'Oh, crap, well, since I've already moved myself to Alaska, and I don't really know where the fight when Stacker saves Mori, I'm just gonna have to wait it out.' "Hey Iroh, isn't there a spell that allows one person to move to places that one has seen or have a clear picture of?"

[Yes, and it goes along with your teleportation magic practice and dimensional magic too. Essentially the same thing really, but don't stress about it. It'll take some time, and I can make that time you know]

"You're right. Well, guess I need to let you take over the time frame while I practice. I'd rather make sure I have it down first, that way it comes naturally and I can do it on the fly if need be, so slow down time Iroh till I get this under control, then speed it up when I do so that it'll be that time when the fight with that crab looking thing is done."

[Done, good luck, and remember to take your 'time' with this]

"....Nice pun I guess. Anyway. To the Garden I go to practice."

And David practices for a couple of days, his understanding of what he needs to do along with the 'basic memories' of God allowing him to pretty much learn quickly what to do and what applications he can do with it. "Ya know Iroh, I would've thought that magic would've been harder for me to learn. But I guess with the 'basic memories' of everything, allowing me to understand the fundamentals of it all, really does help out more than I thought."

['If only you knew all that was given to you, and what's affecting you. I won't tell you since it'll be detrimental to your growth and and will only stress you more and make you more unstable. You are still just a 'newborn' and figuring things out for yourself still. It's only a matter of time. You don't have a system of your own, and I only control this Home for you, so everything is up to you']

"Anyway Iroh, I think I'm now able to go do what I wanted to do. Speed up time and send me on my way please."

[With pleasure] And Iroh then speeds up time to when the attack from Onibaba and sends David down to Earth again. When David was on Earth, remembered that he was in Alaska still, and then teleports to the fight where he sees Stacker Pentecost finishing off the Kaiju. Finally stepping out into the street behind Mori, seeing the iconic scene from so long ago. Stacker comes down and starts to talk to the both of them. "Where are you're parents?"

Mori, still in shock, doesn't say anything. David however starts to talk, surprising Mori since she didn't even notice him standing behind her a little ways off. "I don't have a family, but I'm alright Mr. Pentecost."

Stacker, no expecting David's answer, starts to worry for him and Mori, since he also notices that her parents are no where to be found. But then he realizes that David is a little too calm with his answer, and asks him what was on his mind. "Why are you so calm, you just almost died to a Kaiju almost killing you."

"Oh I wouldn't have died, although your health says otherwise, how are the nosebleeds coming along?" David answers and asks back. Stacker, never telling anyone other than a select few, starts to have thoughts zooming through his head. "How do you know about that, no one other than a few should know about that."

"Well, I know the future Mr. Pentecost. And the answer as to why I know the future is...Magic!" David says, and Stacker is just not believing him.

"There is no such thing as magic, so how do you know about my condition?" Stacker getting irritated at the boy in front of him, but still in control of his emotions.

"I haven't lied, I hate lying about things." David says, and then demonstrates what he did with Raleigh a little while back, and makes a snowball. Then, with Stacker utterly shocked with what he was seeing, all of a sudden saw white, his face cold.

"Thought you could cool off a bit ya know?" David says while backing up slowly. Stacker, finally giving him a second look after wiping off the snow, asks David, "Well, since you know the future, do you mind telling me what happens?"

"Ah, that's for me to know and mess with, and for you to find out. I'm just trying to change the future to one of my liking, so, I'm here to just introduce myself and also just messing around with things. Anyway, since I've pretty much done what I wanted to do, I'll let ya go. Oh, and do take care of Mako Mori here, poor thing has had her mouth open this whole time while listening to us talk." David says as he starts to walk away. Making a portal for him to walk through back to Alaska shoreline. The portal, being a swirling mix of black and blue with hints of white and purple. He almost makes it through when he stops and turns around.

"Oh, I almost forgot, here. This is a token of mine, snap it and it'll tell me to come and help, so only use it when you need it most. You'll know in about, eh 9 years. Give or take some months, when the UN will stop their funding. Oh, it'll also glow when I'm nearby, so please take note of that too."

And with that, tosses the 9-tailed fox token to Stacker, and walks through. Shutting the portal behind him to leave Pentecost and Mako Mori dumbfounded at what just happened.
