His eyes widened as a few words left his mouth.

"Really?"

I just smiled nostalgically.

" I respect your feats, you have saved the universe more than once after all, your character, you may joke around but when it is hero time you never hesitate to help and a lot of other things. But when I see you, my mind always wonders towards the missed potential you had. Not the potential for love, not for happiness not even for power. But for heroics, you could have saved millions of innocent lives.

Imagine, an hero, so heroic that he inspires the entire universe to do good, so strong that he is able to beat any villain, so happy that he is an inspiration that even the worst can be the best, so nice that his kindness spreads through the universe and a legacy so strong that it inspires good for the rest of time and so much more.

That hero is what I imagined you could be at your peak. Whenever I see you, I see a shadow of what could have been. A shadow of a legend that surpasses the bounds of the universe. A pale imitation of what could have been.

You rely too much on your aliens. You have no physical strength, you haven't even tried your hand at magic, you aren't that smart and you never even tried academically. Without that watch, all I see is an average plumber. Now that I know your aliens inside out. Even the ones you didn't know you had, what will you do? When your aliens are useless, what does the great intergalactic here do?

If you are nothing without the watch, you don't deserve it. Because if I ever lose all my powers, all of my knowledge or everything that I have, I will still be a hero. I don't need a watch to make me special."


Ben turned back into his human form, still staring at me with his game face but I could see his mind working at supersonic speeds just processing the info I had dumped on him. Kevin touched another one of his metals and turned into a weird metallic white and Gwen's book of spells was covered in a pink aura as it floated in front of her and I could see grandpa max panicking internally.


"Why so hostile? You guys are the ones who crashed my reality. Tell me whatcha want and maybe I will give you a little gift before you leave. After all, I have seen your legends."


Gwen,Ben and Kevin looked at each other expecting someone to stand up. But it was Max who spoke up.


"We came here because there was a massive disruption in the timestream. Also what do you mean by a 'gift'?"


"Glad you are being sensible Max. We can talk about the disruption later, my gift is the gift of knowledge. Any one question you can ask as a group. I won't lie to you either. One question, one answer so choose carefully."

"Can we take a mintue to dicuss?"

"Sure. Just dont take to long"

The three of the universe walkers walked back ten feet before huddling together whispering something that i couldnt hear.

During that time i waited by looking around but in reality i was using my senses to check the power levels of everyone here. I was mostly focused on the omnitrix but my senses were blocked by something in the omnirtix. I guess azmuth was smart enough to block people from just scanning the omnitrix so i went for gwens book after that but i had to perform with extreme finesse as the book might sense me.

Meanwhile.

"Should we trust him? I mean he said he was a but power hungry but he hasn't done anything evil. If anything he has acted a bit calm towards us."

Max said as he could see hadn't hadn't lied when I was talking with the,.

"Grandpa are you crazy? He is unhinged? He was practically worshipping Ben before he started berating him. We can't trust him!!"

Gwen said this as she looked towards Kevin and Ben for support but Ben was wearing a somber face while Kevin didn't look her in the eye.

"He was right. I could have been so much greater. Maybe not as great as he described it but even if I fail to reach that level, no harm done, I just became a better person and hero."

Gwen was a bit surprised at bens behavior but she responded to him with her own rebuttal

"Ok so maybe the alpha Ben wasn't lying. He is right about Ben but that doesn't mean we have to listen to him."

This time, Kevin spoke up.

"He knows a lot. Even if he lies, it will be good to have some information. And by the off chance he tells the truth, we get an answer to almost any question."

Gwen huffed as she threw her hand up in a surrender

"Fine, we will ask him but what should we ask him"

Ben walked away from the group and towards Alpha Ben without saying a word.
