Ring Around

A shouting in the distance as battle continued with the dragons and lance was heard. The sun was high in the sky as it cast light upon the world below. A small group of people gathered at a hill, watching the distant fight for their home.

The sound of horses could be heard, and people were starting to run from various buildings, fleeing from the dragons.

It was too much. Everyone knew the day would end like this, but no one seemed to be prepared for the end of this war. They had lost so many already that day. And now, they were going to lose more. There would only be so many deaths before there were no more lives left to lose.

They all looked up at a man dressed in black riding on a white horse, his armor shining brilliantly in the sunlight. His dark hair fell around his face, obscuring his eyes from anyone who might try to look at him. This wasn't supposed to happen, he thought sadly, it couldn't be happening again.
