My Last Apocalypse

I can't explain why or how this cycle repeats for me. Yet, what I do understand is each time I die, I return to the starting point, a zombie apocalypse, and continue my journey anew. In my first apocalypse, I overlooked the creeping signs of doom until overrun by zombies in my flat, where I perished in sheer terror. The second attempt to alert others of the impending chaos fell on deaf ears; labelled a lunatic, I fled the city, only to succumb to starvation and exposure alone in the wild. By the third go, I sought safety in wealth, collecting vast supplies, yet fell victim to a brutal gang. Now, understanding the key—precise foresight, survival skills, strict secrecy, and solitude—I see the purpose in reliving this collapse. This time, failure is not an option. This time, I will survive and outlive the apocalypse.

'I can feel them'

Seok-jin nods, his expression turning steely. "Let's get to it, then."

We fan out, the JH Group's vehicles forming a defensive perimeter around the Supermarket shelter. As the engines roar to life and the sound of gunfire intensifies, I lead a group towards the front lines, where the fighting is fiercest.

The air is thick with smoke and the acrid stench of burning metal. The infected surge towards us, driven by Taesung's twisted commands. I draw my weapon, the weight of it familiar and comforting in my hand. With a deep breath, I push forward, firing into the mass of infected that threatens to overwhelm us.

Seok-jin fights beside me, his movements precise and deadly. The JH Group soldiers move with military precision, their training evident in the way they hold the line against the relentless assault. Despite our efforts, the sheer number of infected is staggering, and for every one we cut down, it seems two more take its place.
