Chapters 8: Tournament

<p>Ever since the day I "attacked" Becky, they made me starve for a week and would occasionally come inside my room to beat me up. But none of that stopped me from working out because I want to be in the best shape possible when the guild masters come to 'get me' or whatever. I've been trying to ignore the fact that while I'm in here everyone else is out getting stronger and stronger every couple of hours and days, and I'm in here still level three.<br/><br/>What I'm most surprised about is nobody came in here asking about the skills, but I'm guessing Becky didn't tell them and doesn't want to tell them about how she lost two amazing skills. I keep thinking about how she will react when I learn mana and use these skills right in her face…damn, I forgot she has a class.<br/><br/>*Click Click*<br/><br/>My eyes immediately dart to the door and I say "welcome to my humble abode guild masters…haven't seen such a strong couple since the day I killed my family" ah that came out the wrong way. The guild masters looked at me in shock and what I could tell was caution which is confusing me, what can I do to them? "Anyway, come with us August," they said and turned around and walked off. I couldn't help but be happy that I was finally leaving this room once and for all, so I slowly got up and started walking right behind them with my hands in my pocket. As soon as I exited the room, I was attacked by the light, "it seems that the darkness in that room was actually helping me and protecting me from the light all along…keep that in mind guild masters" the guild masters didn't say anything and kept walking.<br/><br/>We kept on walking and the light was bothering me, so I put my hood up, but I noticed as we were walking there seemed to be other people getting escorted somewhere as well. I started walking even closer to the guild masters and…oh wow, did I grow a couple of inches taller I remember being like 5'8 what am I now like 6'0? How did I grow so much, I thought I stopped growing in height a while ago since I turned 19? But anyway my height is currently irrelevant now "what makes me so special that the guild masters themselves came to get me instead of sending other guild members?". They continued to walk for a minute until the woman responded to me "You are nothing but a prisoner well a slave to be exact there is nothing special about you, and please stop calling us 'guild masters' my name is Genella and his name is Sander" she talked to me like she was a noble lady or something it was weird people are now starting to role-play now that the world has changed do they want to go back to the medieval age?<br/><br/>As we kept walking, I just realized how big this abandoned building was because it took us about five minutes to go to the nearest exit, "why are we leaving the building? Can I get my knives first?" they didn't respond, so now I was a little nervous…wait nervous? Am I afraid of death? What for? I killed my family, I have no reason to live, and I have no one to live for. To be honest, dying isn't something to be afraid of.<br/><br/> "Death is something you should accept in life if you wish not to fear anyone or anything" Genella again was the one to respond and said "stop talking to yourself and listen…you will be participating in a slave tournament-" I immediately cut her off, "a tournament wait what!? Why- what am I fighting for, exactly? And what do I gain from this?". I felt a huge amount of pain on my cheek and my head was suddenly facing the right, making eye contact with someone very familiar… Becky? "Do not interrupt me again when I'm talking!…but to answer your questions the person who wins this tournament will be able to join the guild and no longer be a slave stuck in those disgusting dark rooms but either way you're going to fight regardless or I can just kill you now". I heard everything Genella said, but right now, I was focused on what I was currently looking at. What I have seen was Sarina, Jason, and Becky together but that isn't what made me focus on them what made me focus on them is because Sarina and Jason were both holding weapons to be specific Sarina had a short sword and Jason had a long sword with blood on them "they have a status screen…". I turn my head and look down at Genella with a crazed expression and said, "Who do I need to kill?".<br/><br/>We are finally where the tournament was being held, it was only a few minute walk behind the building, but it felt like it took an hour. The closer we got, the more people I seen there was only about 20 people, but that's still quite a lot "you guys really kidnapped all these people you guys are cra- never mind". <br/><br/>Sanders looked me straight into my eyes and said, "you'll be one of the first to fight in this tournament" as he said that he pointed me in the direction of where to go. The place he pointed was just the ground circled by some rocks, it reminded me of sumo wrestling "I'm definitely a special slave" I said walking into the 'ring' with my hands still in my pocket. The size of the 'ring' was about the same as a 10×10 room. <br/><br/>I was standing inside the ring with my hands in my pocket while slouching over waiting for the opponent to enter the circle. Now I don't why out of all things they had to make a tournament but it's potentially free kills for me...that's if I get easy opponents.<br/>•<br/><br/>•<br/><br/>•<br/>August was standing in the ring with his eyes closed just waiting patiently for his opponent, and he didn't have to wait long. A woman about the same height as August walked inside the ring. "This girl looks a bit malnourished? Can she even fight?" though August sounded concerned, he couldn't hide the wide smile on his face.<br/><br/>The woman's head was facing the ground and her arms were to her side.<br/><br/>"Please I don't want to fight, I was just looking for my daughter!" The woman's voice cracked as she spoke. August slowly took one hand out of his pocket and scratched his neck. <br/><br/>"You're making me uncomfortable" he said and started walking towards her quickly. And suddenly the women jumped towards August, surprising him, but he side stepped it easily. The woman fell to the ground with a hard thump, 'it seems she jumped at me without a plan'. August could only look at her lying on the ground crying and shaking, not knowing whether he should say something or end it. Though he didn't think long about it, he decided to just kill her in the quickest way possible.<br/><br/>He slowly walked up to her and kicked her to make her lay down on her back. "You almost made me change" August put his foot to her neck and started applying all the pressure he could. <br/><br/>"Wait, please stop, I have a daughter-" August hurriedly destroyed and tore her neck off. It was easy because her body was already weak, and she had no strength to resist. 'Luckily I didn't switch, but if I do the guild masters might kill me, so I have to be careful'.<br/><br/>August kicked the girl's body and head out of the ring. August could hear people whispering, obviously talking about what he did, but he tried to cancel it out by focusing and closing his eyes.<br/><br/>*DING* <br/><br/>"Hurry up and get up there" August could hear Genella talking to someone in frustration, signaling them to go into the ring. 'This time I'm going to end it even quicker, I need to hurry up and get mana' August opened his eyes to see a sword about to pierce right between his eyes. He hurriedly leaned back and succeeded in dodging the attack. But he was also surprised to see bright blue light come out from the tip of the sword. He couldn't help but be fascinated by what just happened. He let his body fall on the ground and rolled over to get away from him. <br/><br/>"You did not have to kill that woman" The man with the sword had a face filled with rage. He had a long sword that was really thin but was dangerously sharp.<br/><br/>August got off the ground and shook the dirt out his hair. At first, he was slightly nervous, but now he was frustrated, and his emotions were present in his eyes despite the calm smile on his face.<br/><br/><br/><br/>To Be Continued~</p>
