111 The Countdown

The berserkers had divided the 206 hostages into a total of 6 groups. There were 4 groups of 34 hostages while 2 groups consisted of 35 hostages each.

The hostages had shackles around their neck, hands, and legs. The chains around their legs were just wide enough for them to walk, while their hands were tied behind their backs.

And the shackles around their hands were connected in such a way that a group of hostages was all tied to each other. No one could run away even if they had the courage to do so. They all had to walk in a single line. And they also had to manage the same pace if they didn't want to stumble and fall, making others topple down as well.

That was also the reason why a mere 12 berserkers were able to control hundreds of hostages.

The hostages, along with the berserkers, stopped in front of the army of IGT Fed soldiers while maintaining a good distance between the two sides.
