Chapter 5

Tae Jun's pov :

"... And that is how she saved me", I completed the story. All four of us were seated in the conference hall of Isabel's company as she said this was the most quiet place. I felt like a grandmother telling bed time stories to three kids while they were drinking milk. Only their milk was beer but their expressions were the same. "so you are saying, that maple girl saved you from falling off a cliff, and to thank her and to pay her back the favor of saving your life, you were trying to find her, and fortunately you ran into her on the street and yet the letters T H A N K Y O U never came out of your mouth", Lee Hyun asked. " what a dumb ass", joon hyung added. "I was shocked to see her, okay!! ", I said defending myself. "she probably thinks you ate a jerk now", Lee Hyun said laughing . Isabell laughed too. "yeah, she makes predujice 's really fast", she said. "aishh, now what should I do, only if I can see her again ", I said. "I can make that happen", issabell said. "if I call her right now she will come running to me, I am kind of an important to her, you know", she said.

Daebak. I suppose they are beasties.

We decided to call her here, in the conference room .we ordered some fried chicken for dinner as we were starving. Yeah maybe, expressing my deepest, heartfelt thankfulness over chicken and beer would ease my situation. After 2 missed calls, she finally picked up.

"heyy! , it's code red!! ,can you stop calling me", she whispered yelled on the phone which was on speaker .

"get over it, he is not going to propose", issabell said rolling her eyes.

" dudeeee, he literally texted me, (tries to intimate a manly voice) 'I have to tell you something, let's meet', like ummm excuse me", she said sounding really excited.

"babe u are worth more than that scumbag, even though he is handsome, u deserve better", she nagged. " anyway, meet me at the office when you are done, I don't want to eat chicken and beer alone", issabell said. "where is Noah, why are you alone?", she asked. Who is Noah. A mutual friend maybe?. "oh he is out with the guy's, I will be seeing you then", issabell answered. "yeah, you will be meeting an engaged woman though, hopefully ", she said and hung up.

I kinda felt annoyed about the amount of time she was taking to come. Half an hour later, it started thunderstorming. The weather was pretty bad and I started getting worried. " I hope she gets here safe", I muttered, under my breath, facing the window. "oh, she is here guys", issabell said looking at her phone, and went outside to get her.

Suddenly, my throat felt dry and I started fidgeting my fingers.

Why was I so nervous about this?.

Sitting in my seat was getting particularly hard while the other two men blabbed nonsense about some restaurant back in Korea, too unbothered. That's how these guys were. Always unbothered when it came to food.

The door opened and following issabell came a female of incredible beauty. She was completely soaked, dripping from head to toe. Showing our respects, we got up from our seats and greeted her.

Both the dudes were now equally wide eyed to see the mesmerizing beauty.

One could easily compare this scene to the one when the bride walks down the aisle, completely confident in her skin , while everyone is in an awe.

Mapel's pov :

It was cold, damp and wet. No emotion, no feelings. I stood rock solid, in front of issabell's company. My feet were sometimes more stubborn than my foul heart. By the amount of rain being poured from the sky, I knew that I had enraged the sky. A selfish being like myself did not deserve to be alive.

My legs remained stubborn, until I was completely drenched, so I used my hand to text issy to come get me.my heart felt numb. She guided me to a restroom, giving me a towel to dry myself. She stood facing me while I had my head bent low. Suddenly my feet gave away and I collapsed on top of her. She hugged me close, and we stood there In silence . I found refuge in her hug, while shedding unintentionall tears. After my little mental break down session, she took me to a conference hall.

As soon as we entered, three Korean guys stood up to greet me. "I thought you were alone", I muttered under my breath .

"guy's this is maple, and may this is Jin, she said pointing to the tallest guy. I was astonished by hisperfectly oval and symmetrical face.

" - this is Lee hyun ", she said pointing to the shortest guy. He would be an inch taller than me but overall he was pretty dang handsome.

"- and lastly Tae Jun", she said pointing to the guy who I knew would be the most popular with girls.

We seated ourselves opposite to them, my lips pressed in a straight line . Just then I realized that one of them was the guy from earlier.

Huh?

I guess he noted my expressions and quickly introduced himself.

" yes, I am the guy from earlier, you saved my life, no words can describe how thankful I am to you -" , the rest of the speech faded in my ears as my brain was well occupied with my own sufferings but damnnn, his voice.

It was sooooooooooooooooooooo deep. Oh! If he talked all night, I would listen all night. It was like music to my ears .

" I did what I had to do", I smiled.

We started chatting over some beer. Tae Jun and his commorades told me about their band and information, I couldn't care less about. For me , I just smiled and nodded to whatever they were saying, trying my best to not burst into tears every time I saw issabell's questioning eyes.
