"Hey baby", I called out back hugging my bff. "aishh stop calling me that", she said annoyed yet smiling.
"I missed you love", I said snuggling closer to her as cold air blew around us in circles and gave her cheek a little peck.
"yaah, srsly, if you do that again, I am gonna kill you May, and not at my work place! , I have a reputation here", she said.
"woah, someone has been practicing their Korean accent", I said narrowing my eyes.
"well being assigned as the tour guide for a Korean boy band will be the highlight of my career, I want it to be perfect so that's why I have been practicing my Korean, I even took a few lessons", she said.
"well it's nice to see u working hard, make me proud okay", I said sternly.
She started laughing hystericaly.
I raised my eye brows in question. I knew she needed help but did she really go insane this time. Aishh my poor friend.
"how can you not be begging me to take you to meet them backstage right now or ask questions about them and what not,.... what a cold reaction, when I tell people, they get all worked up", she said. "well I am not interested -", i said but was interrupted by a shout from issy's boss calling for her.
"I need to go, it is pretty busy rn", she said running away leaving me.
I guess I have to wait for this concert to be over for us to hangout . I was exhausted after such a long day at the clinic. Being a phycologist, u don't get to leave your seat and go for a walk, pretty often. Taking advantage of the free time and the open space, I decided to take a walk backstage. The concert ground was seriously enormous. The cold December air blew past me and I snuggled an inch closer to my coat feeling the temperature . The pleasent air comforted me and stripped me of all my blues, atleast for the time being . It felt like I was reborn again. My petite body dancing to the claiming melody of the wind. A few minutes into the walk I found myself spotting someone acting strangely. From the distance it felt like staff who just got a big blow. he came out of a door connected to the backstage. he was limping and struggling with his steps, his tall figure falling to either side of the ground. He trailed off to the very edge of ground and then it dawned on me, his intentions.
I took a sharp breath.
If he took one more step ahead he would fall of the cliff where the place was built on. The builders should have placed a fence around the edge to avoid accidents but we'll they didn't. I started running to him in a desperate attempt to save him, calling him. he was almost dead but fortunately I reached him in time and grabbed the collar of his jacket pulling him away from the edge.
Panting I said
"hey , are you drunk or something".
The boy didn't answer but he just fell to the ground shivering. Right then using my diagnostic skills I found that he was having a panic attack. And a very serious one at that. I helped him sit up against a wall and asked again
"are you okay?! ".
he didn't respond just shivered more. I could hear his heartbeat as it was so loud. Cold beads of sweat were forming on his forehead and he breathed unevenly . At this rate his heart could stop working. I put my hand on his forehead and found that he was burning up. I took out my water bottle and pressed the cool plastic against his neck and forehead to relieve the temperature. As he was wearing a mask I couldn't see his face so I took it off. Though because of the dim light I still couldn't make out his face, his eyes failed to not stand out. They glowed like a firefly.
"do you feel better", I asked.
He stared dead in my orbs. His gaze burned me up. His eyes told a story. One, which I was most interested to read.
After staring at me for a good minute he threw himself at me, his long arms wrapped around my back . I panicked and my heart raced at an uncontrollable pace . He hugged me tight and didn't seemed to let go. He calmed down in an instant . He rested his head on my shoulder breathing, against my neck, which had my body on fire.
Right then another man came out of the same door and ran towards us. He was dressed in a sequence shirt and sounded concerned. Maybe they knew each other.
"what happened", he managed to say in between heavey pants.
"he was having a panic attack and was very close to falling off the cliff-", I informed him. "-I guess he is drunk but yeah he also had a fever".
He nodded.
The drunk guy hugged me tighter and snuggled closer to my body. I let him do that as it seemed to be calming him down pretty well. The drunken guy's freind got him to his feet and he was they walked away after thanking me.
" thank you so very much for saving his life, we need to be somewhere right now, I will make sure to return the favor", he said helping his friend walk.
After the two men left I found myself complaining about how the drunk man's eyes looked at me. His ocean eyes were filled with so many emotions. While I was lost in my train of thoughts, issy came back. "Hey, what are you doing here, the concert is about to begin, sorry I can't join you but can watch it with her", she said motioning to a girl next to her. "hi, I am. Charlotte", she spoke in a healthy British accent. I introduced myself to her and we headed towards our seat.
Charlotte seemed to be a nice person. The place was packed with fans and the crowd grewing wilder with every passing second. The concert started and the Korean artists went about doing what they do.
I understood the hype about a live concert. It seemed magical.
