Confrontation

The next morning they were still allowed to go and check out the gym. But that was solely for Irvine's benefit. Evie may be her mother's favourite but she cared about Irvine's feelings more.

God knew the girl had very few demands so when she asked for something, got it. On the other hand, Anais was the least favourite of the three sisters. She was the one who always got herself in trouble.

Anais got ready for the gym tour. She wore a neckless blue gown and did her hair up in a hairdo like a proper lady.

But Kurt decided to show up this morning. Usually, they met outside to keep their relations hidden. So, she was curious about why he wanted to meet her. Was he trying to make it official?

As usual, he was waiting for her in the guest room so when she was ready to head out, she went to meet him.

As usual, he was waiting for her in the guest room so when she was ready to head out, she went to meet him.

She entered the room and firmly closed the door and decided to confront him.

He was sitting on the futon and got up when she came up to him "Anais, are you okay, love?" He hovered over her, taking her chin in his hand.

"Is there something you want to tell me?" she directly asked.

He looked at her puzzled "I just came to check on you since you were upset that day"

"Yeah, I'm doing alright" She had still gotten the punishment after Kurt left and the family blissfully forgot what they did but she was okay.

"I'm curious, Kurt" she verbalized

"About what?"

"Who was the Marcel guy?"

"Marcel who?" he frowned looking down at her.

"The guy who danced with me at the ball. The guy you wanted me to stay away from" she added

"Did he do something?" He looked angry

"He just gave me bad vibes so I want to know"

"Answer the question, Anais. I swear to the lord if the bastard did anything-"

"No, he didn't do anything "

"Then why are you curious?" he asked

"Because I feel like I'm getting stalked" She all but shouted at him

"Damn, since when?"

"A couple of days before I met him"

"Why didn't you tell me?" He sat down and rubbed his face.

"I was not sure" she uttered honestly this time. And silence followed. After a long time of silently sitting with his face on his hand, Kurt spoke up again.

"I've to go now. I've some work at the brotherhood" Anais did not say anything. She just turned around and left. Oh, she did not come clean to him but he didn't either. She knew how much he valued her now.

She was just heading upstairs to her chamber to have a moment to herself when Irvine started descending.

"Sister, are you ready?" Irvine asked. Anais just nodded her head.

"Should I tell the butler to get the carriage out?" Irvine further inquired.

"No need, we will just materialise" she dismissed her

So, they materialised outside the gym. And when they went inside, Anais was quite shocked to find Mademoiselle Rosa there. Irvine though did not know her so she just merely continued to look around.

"Anais, I did not expect to find you here."

"Good morning, Mademoiselle Rosa" But Rosa did not care about that. She enveloped her in a hug and kissed her on both cheeks. When Rosa let go of her, Anais turned to her sister.

"Meet Irvine, my little sister" And then she turned to the French lady

"Irvine, this is mademoiselle Rosa. She runs the newly opened hat shop "

"Hello" Irvine greeted the hat shop owner politely.

"Oh, how lovely you are, dear." Rosa checked her sister out lingering longer on her face and breast. She wondered if the French lady swing the other way.

"So, do you plan to join the gym, Mademoiselle Rosa?" Anais asked.

"Oh no, my brother opened the gym so I'm just supervising. But I might join in the future"

"Mademoiselle, you come from a merchant family?" Anais inquired

Rosa nodded her head "Of course, we have a long line of tradesmenship in our ancestry "

They chatted with each other as Mademoiselle Rosa gave them a tour around the gym and she pointed out different types of equipment and showed them how to use them. Irvine listened to her carefully, hanging onto each and every word.

Soon the tour came to end and they materialised near their home with a promise to return to the gym again.
