Chapter 3

As the three frightened teens are now being approached by the monstrosity

that used to be Ben the security guard, they are momentarily frozen with fear.

Its dark green skin glimmering from the light above it, the monster snaps the

jaws on its head, as though herding them back into the dark hole they just got out of.

Magie fainted from fright after seeing the monster she feared once

again. Julia lost her grip on Magie, but Shin thankfully caught her

before she hit the floor.

In this hopeless situation, however, Julia manage to find the strength she

needs to try and survive the nightmare she has found herself in. Julia threw

the mace can inside the nipping maw of the monster. Before the monster

could spit the can out and attack them, Julia reached in her bag again and pulled

out a stun gun and fired it at the monster.

Julia was expecting the monster to jolt and be reeling from the pain of the

voltages coming from the thirty thousand volt stun gun, but, even after

it's dark green skin sizzled, the demonic looking creature just removed

the probes of the stun gun from its skin, unfazed.

Monster: "That tickled, little girl. I'm gonna enjoy carving you out."

The monster said as he pulled the cords of the stun gun, forcing Julia

to let go of it, or else get pulled towards the monster's direction.

Shin: "Get away from her, you BITCH!!"

Shin said to the monster, as he tries to beat it back with a folding chair

he found.

Try as he might, however, Shin was just not strong enough to fend off

the monster. It swatted the chair out of Shin's hands and then grabbed

his entire chest with one massive palm, slamming Shin on to the wall. While the

monster continues to pin him to the wall, Shin seemed to have passed

out when his back hit it hard.

Julia: "WAIT. I want to ask you a question."

Julia blurted these words out of desperation, as the monster was about to maul Shin

with its claws.

Monster: "Ask me a question? What kind of question would you want

to ask the thing that's about to kill you?"

The monster asked Julia.

Julia: "What wouldn't I want to ask a being like you? You're a creature

beyond human understanding. Surely you have knowledge of things a

mire mortal like me can never comprehend."

Julia said, filling the grotesque monstrosity with flattery.

Monster: "Don't make a fool of me, child. You're just buying some time

before I kill you."

The creature said, seeing through the girl's ruse.

Julia: "Okay, fair point. Maybe I am stalling. But, come on, is there any

other thing I can do to actually escape you? And I'm sure no one has

ever asked you to tell your own story, right? Here's your chance. I'm

obviously not going anywhere. What do you have to lose here, really?"

The monster pondered Julia's reasoning. In its hundreds of years of

life, no one has ever bothered to ask about its journeys in this world.

Its entire life has been dedicated to feasting on the hearts of humans,

that it never even occurred to it that it is vastly more intelligent than

an average human being. Of course it wants to tell it's own story.

Monster: "Alright, little one. You may ask... Four questions."

The creature said to Julia, giving her relief in knowing that she bought

herself and her friends more time.

Julia: "O-okay, here's my first question. Who and what are you."

Julia asked with a shaky voice.

Monster: "Two questions in one. Are you trying to cheat me, girl? But,

alright. You still have three more questions. My name is Ygesh, and I

belong to a race of hell bound entities known as Fienderlush."

The monster answered, sharing its secrets for the first time to a human.

Julia: "Thank you. Now, next. Why didn't you kill the two girls the same

way you killed everyone else in there?"

She asked her second question with more conviction.

Ygesh: "Because, we Fienderlushes can only eat the hearts of humans

who have fallen into the deepest of despair. Such is how we are created.

I was running out of supplies, so I took them, and leave them marinating

in their despair, so I can eat them later."

Julia: "Alright. Third, have you always posed as the security guard Ben?"

Ygesh: "Great question. No, I killed that man and wore his flesh about a

month ago. I then lured thieves in the school by keeping the gate open

and pretended I was asleep so I could prey upon them."

Julia has one last question she can ask. So far, the monster named Ygesh

has given more information than she was hoping to get, and she is still recording

on her camcorder. If she can survive this ordeal, she would have the proof

and the story she needs to become a full fledge journalist just like her

mother.

Ygesh: "Are you going to ask your last question, or am I to assume that

you're ready to die?"

Ygesh asked Julia. A tint of irritation can be heard in the creature's voice.

Julia: "Ahh... Y-yeah, sure. So, last question. Why did you come here

of all places? Is it because it's Isolated?"

Ygesh: "No, I didn't come here because it's isolated. The real reason is..."

Shin: "Uh uh. That info isn't yours to give, you disgusting Fienderlush."

Shin suddenly said, cutting off the answer that Ygesh was about to give Julia.

Julia and Ygesh simultaneously looked at Shin, who is still pinned to the

wall by Ygesh's left hand. The boy is now awake and is smiling a toothy

grin.

Ygesh was ready to kill Shin with the claws on his right hand, but before

he could, his left hand was suddenly sliced into pieces. Bits of white bone peeked

out of the dark sliced flesh that used to be Ygesh's left hand.

Once Shin is free from the large hand that trapped him on side of the wall, Julia

and Ygesh can see that he was the one that cut off Ygesh's hand. Shin

can now be seen holding red sickles in both hands. These sickles

are connected to a bungie that are attached to Shin's red wristbands,

wristbands that Julia has never noticed Shin ever wearing.

This was not the only noticeable change coming from Shin, though.

Julia now noticed that the whites in his eyes have now turned to bright

scarlet red, and the hazel color of his pupils have now changed to

bright green. Julia couldn't believe her eyes as a large grey cloak

appeared out of thin air and wrapped itself around Shin neck, while it's

hood is slowly covering his head.

Shin: "It's very clever of you to carve concealment runes on your little

kill room there, Fienderlush. I had a really hard time finding you. You

even wore a human's hide and fake your death clock. To bad that girl over

there is much smarter than you could ever be."

Shin tells Ygesh as he slowly approaches the Fienderlush.

Ygech: "No. It can't be. I made sure none of your kind could ever find me."

The Fienderlush said as it slowly backed away from Shin.

Shin: "What can I say. I'm a great judge of character. I had a feeling

that the two girls' disappearance, along with other people disappearance

near the school was related to a Hellbound being like you. That same

feeling is what led me to trust that Julia over there will find the girls. It

was fun pretending that I was in danger though. Seeing that look on your

gross face is priceless."

Shin said as he mocks the demonic creature.

Ygesh: "A-alright. I understand. I-I'll leave right away, just please, don't

hurt me, Reaper."

Ygesh begged Shin who is revealed to be a Reaper.

Shin: "Oh... I believe you know as well as I do that we're well past that

point, Fienderlush. You're not leaving this school alive."

Shin said as he grinds the sickle in his left hand on the metal pipes of the

boiler, red sparks flying off it as he does so.

Knowing he couldn't win against Shin the Reaper, Ygesh used his power

to regrow his left hand, and ran away on all fours out of the boiler room.

Shin: "Awe... That's cute. It thinks it can get away."

Shin said to no one in particular. Shin then summoned a large scythe

from within his cloak. The scythe had a red, transparent blade that looks like it

was made of glass. And an Ibex skull at the top of the said blade. After

calling forth his scythe, Shin used his sickles to slash the air, and

somehow made a tear through the fabric of space.

Shin: "Hey, Julia. Do you want to get out of here? I found a short cut."

Shin said to Julia, as he pointed at the jet black tear that's hovering in

midair.

Meanwhile, Ygesh, the Fienderlush managed to climb up the stairs,

navigate the halls of the school, and find the exit to try and escape

Shin the Reaper. Ygesh found himself running on the school's football

field, when he noticed a funny looking black tear in space.

Ygesh stopped running when he saw Shin and Julia stepping out of the

tear while carrying the two unconscious girls. Ygesh tried to run away from

the Reaper again, but Shin made his scythe float horizontally in the air,

and hopped on it as if he was standing on a skateboard.

Shin then rode his scythe like a surfboard, the young Reaper gliding

on invisible waves as he chases after the murderous Fienderlush.

Knowing that he can't out run a Reaper while it is riding its scythe,

Ygesh decides to fight Shin in the open field, hoping his long range

attacks can harm the Reaper.

Ygesh turned his hands into tentacle like appendages and used them as

whips to try and attack Shin. Try as Ygesh might though, Shin was

able to dodge and zip by his tentacle whips. Shin easily avoiding the

dagger like claws at the end of the whips,

Ygesh: "GET AWAY FROM ME!"

The monster shouted at the Reaper, who is circling him, waiting from

the right moment to cut him down.

Desperate, Ygesh multiplied the tentacles he is using and went for an

all out assault on Shin. Just as Ygesh thought that he had Shin cornered,

Shin used his dual sickles to mow down the bladed tentacles that Ygesh

launched his way.

In his fear induced panic, Ygesh flailed his bladed tentacles around

precariously in a wide radius. Because of this, however, Ygesh failed to notice

that Shin is now nowhere to be found.

Ygesh: "W-where did he go?"

Ygesh asked himself as he scanned his surroundings.

Suddenly, a spacial tear opened up behind Ygesh, catching the monster

off guard. Before Ygesh can react, Shin flew straight at him, driving

the pommel of his scythe through Ygesh's right torso, impaling him.

Shin then flew high up into the clouds, taking the Fienderlush for a

very painful ride.

Pained moans were the only sound Ygesh could make as Shin flew faster

and faster, the cold rushing air hitting Ygesh's face as his body

uncontrollably arches backwards from the speed of their flight.

Ygesh almost fell out of his impalement when Shin abruptly stopped

their flight high above the clouds.

Shin: "Alright, Fienderlush. I'm going to give you two choices."

Shin said to Ygesh, who is still impaled and has his back turned from Shin.

Ygesh: "Augh... W-what... choices?"

Ygesh asked while in agony.

Shin: "You tell me who you're working for, and I'll kill you quickly. Don't,

and I eat your soul. And if you think your in pain now, just wait until your

hellbound soul is broken down entering the Infinity Stream."

Ygesh: "What do...Akk... you mean? I-I'm not working for anyone but me."

Shin: "Don't B.S. me, Fienderlush, I don't have the time. Now let's say

that a hellbound creature like you, that can only be summoned through,

a dark ritual, just managed to somehow find his way on earth. And

let's also say that one of your hellbound friends told you of the magic

runes you need to hide from us reapers. But a death clock? Only a

high level entity like a Jinn or a master Necromancer can give you

something like that. So for the last time, who are you working for?"

Shin accused the Fienderlush in a stern voice.

Ygesh: "I swear, I don't know. Yes, I was summoned through a hellbound

ritual, but once I got here, no one was there to greet me. The only

thing that was there was a note and a green crystal for the fake death clock.

The note told me to eat the green crystal, go to this town, and use the concealment

runes. That's all there is."

Shin: "Are you sure that's all there is?"

Shin questioned again while he pressed one of his sickles on Ygesh's back.

Ygesh: "Y-yes, I'm sure. I've told you everything I know. P-please, let me

go, Reaper. This is a big town, with thousands of people. Surely, you

can forgive a creature like me for eating just six humans, right? I mean,

everyone in this town is going to die in two months time anyway."

Ygesh begged once again for Shin to free him, while revealing the fate of

everyone in this town.

Shin: "Oh, Fienderlush. You stupid creature you. I'm the Reaper in this

territory now. That means I'm the only one that gets to eat the souls

in this town, got it? Everyone here is mine."

Shin told Ygesh, coldly and with authority.

Ygesh: "S-so... are you going to kill me quickly now? Like you promised?"

Shin: "Did you tell me who sent you here?"

Ygesh: "W-wait. Please n..."

Before Ygesh could finish pleading for his life, Shin cut him down. Within a

second Shin sliced Ygesh"s head into thousands of tiny pieces with his

sickles. Once Ygesh's head is completely gone, Shin extracted Ygesh"s

soul from his body. Ygesh" black soul was glowing a darkly shimmer,

both beautiful and ominous in appearance.

Shin then opened his mouth and proceeded to gulp down the entire soul

down in one bite.

Shin: "Guhh... Yuck! Hellbound souls always taste gross. Human souls

still tastes the best."

Shin said to himself as he continues to hover high above the town,

looking down upon the souls he'll be consuming in two months time.
