Epilogue

"It looks like it stops abruptly." I say while closing his journal.

"But father, that can't be the end of the story!" Logan claims.

"Yeah, what happened to Uncle Rowan and Remus?" Sarah asks.

"Hmm... That is a question for a King's Guard." I say, standing up and placing the journal on a shelf.

"Was he as cool as he portrayed himself?" Logan asks.

"He was incredible. The best brother of all time." I say.

"I heard a song about the Savior." Jessica says, entering the room.

"Mother! Have you heard the story?" Sarah asks, jumping into her arms.

"Oh, yes many times. But now it's time for bed," Jessica says, "Come on Logan."

"I'll be waiting for the King's Guard tale." Logan says.

"Of course, son." I say.

Jessica walks off with the twins. The cool, salty air enters the room and stirs my hair.

I cross my legs and pick up my tea. She enters the room moments later.

"Oh, John..." she says.

"What?" I ask.

"Why did you show them that journal? You know that they'll remember those stories for the rest of their lives." she asks.

"I'll make sure they remember. It is important to know history, especially when it is my own brother's." I say.

"That's fair, I suppose." she says, sitting on my lap.

I wrap my arm around her shoulder. Her head falls onto my chest. She lets out a deep breath and relaxes. The moonlight hits her face, and her skin looks beautiful.

"It looks like rain." she says, gazing through the window.

"Yeah..." I say.

"What happened to the other pages?" she asks.

"I don't really know. Perhaps he didn't get to finish it." I suggest.

"Or maybe, someone else didn't like what was in those pages." she says.

"Want to head to bed now?" she asks.

"I'll be there in a minute." I say.

"Okay." she says, getting up and leaving the room.

I knew that a dark secret was unveiled there. One that sent Remus down, among many other reasons. Whatever happened at Eidothea, must've been something, indeed. Unfortunately, I will never know the truth. Because the only ones that do know what happened are already gone. The best bet to find out the whole story, or even part of it, would be to find and question one of the King's Guard. But there may not be many left.

"So many secrets were left untold..." I say, walking to my bedroom.
