No problem Toya!

"On you're feet Toya!!" Bakugou screamed at the kid who was behind me.

His name was Toya Kaminari, and he has two quirks just like his mom, he can create soundwaves, but he doesn't need an earphone jack, he uses small electric waves to either break or amp up speaks along with other devices,

his other quirk is just as basic as his dad's, not like I could judge anyone's quirks.

We were all running on the tracks for our second day at U.A. Bakugou said it's good training but I think half of the reason is so that he can yell at us for messing up.

"psst~ Motoyo!" Orla called out to me as we ran side by side.

"Let's race! Loser has to buy the winner a smoothie."

I thought about it for a while and today was getting a bit hot.

"You're on!" I said with a smile and we were off.

Bakugou watched everyone from a distance, making sure everyone was running at least five laps around the campus.

"Hey, Kacchan." Deku walked up to him with a smile.

"What do you want Deku-" Bakugou asked, slightly irritated.

"I'm just checking on how Toya's doing."

He said, watching me race against Orla.

"Why? I thought you didn't want him in U.A."

"Yeah.." Deku said.

"But, he's here..against all odds."

"Even though you used fear to rig the votes for him-" Deku said with a nervous look.

"He's proving something to me that I once believed in, but never could do."

Bakugou looked at him with a look of understanding before returning his focus to the students.

"Though-" Deku continued.

"The biggest surprise out of all of this,"

"Is that you make a good homeroom teacher Kacchan!" Deku said, hitting Kacchan on the back.

"What's that supposed to mean, you damn nerd!"

Kacchan shouted, furious.

At the end of the period, both I and Orla were on the floor panting like dogs.

"Ha!.." Orla weakly pushed her finger into my cheek.

"You owe me a smoothie!"

"yeah yeah.." I pushed her hand away.

Toya was the last one to finish the course and other than me and Orla no one else was there they had all gone to lunch already.

_______

"Thanks a lot, Motoyo," Orla said, sipping on the smoothie I bought her from the canteen.

"No problem." I have no money now-

The dining hall was filled with students from all grades.

We looked for empty seats and saw Toya sitting by himself so we decided to go there.

"Hey," I said, placing my tray down.

He looked up at us and took his earpods out.

"You need something?"

"No..just sitting down," I said.

He shrugs and puts his earpods back in.

Strange, I have never seen him talk to anyone. Even though this is only the first day, almost everyone in the class has that one person they spoke to.

"It's not my business-" I thought before eating.

__________

It was late at night in the boy's dorm any normal person would be asleep at this time but Im by the fridge because I couldn't sleep.

I managed to make myself a late-night sandwich and ate it in silence.

The only thing making noise were the early birds and the crickets.

I thought, but another sound played along with them.

The sound of someone playing the guitar, curious I followed the sound to Toya's room, where I saw him playing the electric guitar on his bed.

"crap-" I heard him mutter to himself when he hurt his finger on one of the strings.

He set his fingers right on the guitar and started to play a song.

He made a few mistakes but in my eyes, it was nothing short of amazing.

I got too distracted by his playing and pushed the door too hard, causing me to fall to the ground with a large thud.

Toya quickly looked at the door to see me on the ground.

"What are you doing here??" He asked, still startled by the loud noise I made.

"I just heard you playing and decided to come to have a look," I said with an awkward smile.

He turned back to his guitar and tried to place his fingers right again but it only ended up hurting him.

"oww-" He let go of the strings and shook his hands off to relieve the pain. When I saw his hands they were full of bandages, some of them were new.

"You ok?" I asked.

"Yeah, they're just scratches.." He said, getting ready to play again, but the pain was too much.

"Can I try?" I asked, He turned to me confused for a second.

"Sure.."

He handed me the guitar and I sat beside him, trying to play something.

"You're holding that wrong-" He said, fixing my hands on the correct strings.

I strummed the note but it didn't sound right.

"No, no that's an A flat so you don't strum the first two-"

"This is harder than I thought.." I said, doing what he said.

"Yeah.. and these are just the basics," Toya replied, looking a bit down.

"Are you sure you're ok?"

He sighed before speaking to me,

"You know my mom and dad, right?"

"Of course! Both your mom and dad are top-class musicians and heroes reaching platinum on their first song ever! I listen to them all the time!"

"So you know what they expect me to sound like.."

I thought about it for a moment.

"I'm nowhere near as good as them in music, I'm not even that interested in making it to be completely honest."

"But, everyone has such high expectations for me..and I just don't want to let them down. Especially my parents."

"I thought If this music thing doesn't work out. I'll try being a hero instead."

"I worked hard..and tried to push myself the best I could!"

Tears started to form in his eyes.

"And somehow-"

"I barely managed to pass the written test, and I only got in because I was too scared to fight.."

"My teammates did most of the work, and I almost didn't get in because of it.."

Toya was practically crying,

I couldn't bare to see him like this

"Well, I think you sound amazing!" I tried to encourage him.

"And you can do anything you set your mind to, If it didn't work out at first just try again."

"Keep at it! Dont, stop!"

"You'll get there eventually!"

Toya looked at me, tears still in his eyes.

"If you don't want to be a musician then to hell with it you don't have to be!"

"I'm sure your parents would love you either way."

"thank you.." he said looking to the ground.

I looked at him shocked but soon I smiled.

"No problem, Toya!"
