" You and Nori did amazing, " Yuu said. " And that new move you showed off, Man, Daiki that was crazy."
" Even if that move is amazing it took a lot of energy out of me," I said while I was picking at my eggs. " If I had take on Chargebolt alone I wouldn't have passed the exam. Also they wouldn't let me retake my picture. I look like a fool."
I showed Nori and Yuu my license.
In the photo my face was extremely red and I had this crazy, eager, nervous, angry look on my face. I heard Nori stiffled a laugh and saw Yuu covering his mouth.
" And Hijiri is still laughing at me." I looked over at Hijiri who's face was red a covered in tears from laughing so hard.
" Well you're not the only one who has bad picture days," Yuu said.
I hadn't told my parents about my license yet but I don't think my brother would be surprised. I noticed that Hijiri also had an upgrade with his quirk. Now he could make his fingers sprout sharp medal claws.
" Hey, Yuu, why don't you use your fire often?," I asked.
" I can create a fire wall to protect," he said. " Or I can let my flames go loose to destroy. One or the Other."
" So your choices are pretty limited."
After classes Mr. Miyoga let us go home for the weekend. I headed home as soon as I heard. I even kept my school uniform on.
As I was walking I heard a familiar voice.
" Daiki?," I heard the voice say.
I turned to where the voice came from.
There was a boy with curly orange hair and yellow eyes he was about my age and had on a white button down shirt and a green tie.
" Sora...," I called. " What are you doing?"
" So you got into U.A., eh?," he asked.
Sora was a friend of mines or used to be. Our relationship is like me and Hijiri's but worse, way worse. Hijiri doesn't even mess with me much anymore. But I hate Sora.
" I never knew you being such a try hard would actually pay off!," he cackled.
" How come you aren't in U.A.?," I asked. " You were always stronger than me...or was that just a claim."
" Ha! You mean that excuse of a school for weaklings like you? Of Course i'm stronger. By the looks of the sports festival you haven't changed one bit," he shook his head. " I don't need to got to U.A. to prove myself worthy of becoming a hero people all over the globe will know. There's no point of the top ten spots even being mentioned. It proves nothing but the fame those show offs have a selfish desire for. The world will understand soon."
" I hear that talk everyday," I said. " Your right about the no point of top ten spots part but the show off part is where your wrong. Heroes die everyday risking there lives. Yeah, there may be some people may only be doing it for the fame but there are others who actually care about the world, like Deku and the number ones before him. Not just the number ones but other pro's too. If you just came here to try and shame me then get out of my damn face."
Sora laughed. " I guess I was wrong about you. But your still striving to be like Deku. If you don't start getting used to a world without Deku your not going to succeed. Anyways, how's that wannabe Sato doing. Your not still running after him are you?"
When Sora said that things started to come back to me.
*FLASHBACK*
" Daiki, you know you can't keep following people forever," Sora said when they were eight years old.
" Oh please," Hijiri said. " It's good that he actually looks up to me. I'm someone who'll become the greatest pro who's ever lived. Every person out there will know who I am. I'll be the mightiest!"
" Yeah!," Daiki agreed. " Your quirks so strong, Hijiri. I know my quirk will be just as strong once it comes!"
" Oh, well if your a late bloomer then it has to be something good," Hijiri said.
*Two Years Later*
" You two can keep on dreaming," Sora laughed. " But, haven't you heard Daiki's quirkless. I'm surprised you haven't figured that out by now Hijiri."
*FIRST PERSON*
I felt myself getting angrier.
"Damn, don't let him get into you head, Daiki," I told myself.
" He anyways followed me. That's why he's so rude to you now," Sora said. " He's probably still the hot-headed kids he was when we were little."
" WHAT DID YOU SAY YOU TIME TURNING BASTARD," Hijiri was running in our direction and then he finally reached Sora. " IF YOUR GONNA TALK BULL-CRAP LIKE THAT THEN HOW ABOUT WE SETTLE THIS RIGHT NOW!"
" Where did you come from?!," I exclaimed.
" FIGHT ME SORA SHIMIZU," Hijiri demanded still ignoring me.
Sora didn't even flinch at Hijiri's yelling. Instead he smiled.
" Boop," he poked Hijiri's nose and began to walk away.
" COME BACK HERE I'M NOT DONE WITH YOU. YOU BETTER TAKE BACK THOSE WORDS RIGHT NOW OR I'LL KILL YOU."
Hijiri tried to run after him but I grabbed his shoulders and knocked him down onto the floor covering his mouth.
" CALM DOWN HIJIRI," I said.
" LET GO OF ME DAIKI. I swear I'M GONNA MURDER HIM," he said in a muffled voice.
After a few minutes I got him to calm down. Then he started walking in the direction of U.A. his feet wide from each other while he was stomping.
" Let's go Daiki!," he ordered. " You can go home some other time. Just send your parents a damn picture of your license. Me and you are going to spend the weekend catching up on whatever I missed. Forget about that Shimizu. I'll get 'em someday."
Was Hijiri serious right now? He actually wanted to stay with me. So he really was following Sora this whole time. I smiled me and him weren't so different. We just wanted to be the same person.
I caught up with Hijiri.
" That scowl on his face will never change," I smiled at the thought.
