Chapter 20 - Our Quirks.

He couldn't help but gasp in surprise seeing how a 14 years old was able to formulate complex theories and had helped him create a way to save his old friend.

Izuku had proposed the idea, opting to further research and quirk animals to figure out more and allow to know ways to biologically heal AllMight. Though, the I-Island is known for machinery did not mean that they did not have any bioengineers present.

"That can't be? Aren't you a bit young to have these complex theories??" David was baffled, unable to accept the claim.

"Yes, yes I am." Izuku said plainly.

"Are you saying that Young Midoriya is a researcher of I-Island? Why haven't you told us about it?" Allmight asked while the rest were also surprised by this.

"Well I thought to make it a surprise also I'm not an official member and only been recruited not long ago like when I was 13." Izuku said never been involved in I-island and only shared what he knows.

"Wait, do you have any verification? I want to make sure I'm really talking to Professor Deku." David asked.

"This is the latest file regarding the mutated Spider quirk."

Everyone saw the complex formula regarding the mutation of quirk that is placed within an experimental spider. David doubts washed away acknowledge that the person was the one who helped him with his research.

"Hahaha I thought my Melissa is smart but this is just scary smart. Do you have any smart quirk?" David asked.

"Actually No, I'm just a quirk fanatic that I took it as a hobby and never expected it would come this far." Izuku shrugged it off.

"Interesting." David muttered.

"Well enough about me, I think my friends would like to introduce themselves." Izuku said.

"Damn nerds, stop hiding shit from us! The name is Katsumi Bakugou."

"Hello, I'm Itsuka Kendo, it's nice to finally meet the man who created so many support items and an old friend of AllMight!"

"It's a wonderful day meeting you Professor Shield. You may know me from my parents, I'm Momo Yaoyorozu."

"Ah that's why you look familiar and receive a message about their coming here. Well, I hope you all get along with my Melissa."

David smiled glancing at his daughter hoping to have her have some female friends her age from the outside. He wanted her to have a quirk and free choosing her own path rather than following his.

"I'm Himiko Toga. Melissa-chan is really nice."

"My name is Camie Utsushime."

"I'm Mizuna Midoriya."

"My Name is Tohru."

"Kyoka Jiro, it's nice to meet you and Melissa has been a great company."

"Glad to hear that."

David felt reassurance hearing their words then suddenly frowned as he suddenly gave two short coughs.

"Cough! Cough!"

All Might quickly covered his mouth as everyone excluding Melissa looked at him worriedly. Izuku looked at Melissa and quickly said.

"Um, I would like to chat more about the genetics structure regarding the spider quirk but I think AllMight and you have some catching up to do. We would like to tour around the Island if that's alright with you."

David stared at Izuku before looking at his daughter, he nodded knowing that they knew about his condition. If not then how could he teach them for a long period of time.

"Melissa, can you show these two around the island? I would also like to catch up with my old friend."

"Sure!" Melissa smiled as she excitedly turned her attention to the Group behind her.

"Come on! I'll show you the best places on the island!!"

Izuku and his friends followed her out the door. David then turned towards his AllMight who gradually became smaller and frailer.

"Are you alright, Toshi?" David asked.

"Hahaha never been better." Allmight laughed.

"You shouldn't say something like that. Come on, let me check your condition. If I'm correct, that young man, Izuku, wants to help your condition." David worriedly said.

"Is that about your research that you've been working on?" Allmight asked.

"That's right, we've recently been developing bioengineers serum to help heal your body." He said. Izuku's research has been a great help in figuring out ways to save Allmight. Tohru had tried but she isn't proficient in healing magic.

"Well Dave, even if I regain my peak, I already decided to retire from my hero work." This caused his friend to grow pale, unable to accept the symbol of peace to give up.

"What would happen if you retire? The people need a symbol for peace!?" David knew the weight and outcome that could come from the loss of the symbol of peace.

"That will be for the next generation of heroes. That boy, Izuku Midoriya would one day surpass me and achieve his dream of making a team of Symbols like I did!"

In terms of strength then Izuku wins against Allmight but what he is trying to say is surpass him in regards to being a hero and a symbol.

"A team of symbols of peace?"

"That's right, actually let me tell you a bit with a cup of coffee."

The two headed to the lounging area as David handed a hot coffee to his friend curious at his words from earlier. He could see that his friend had changed for better or for worse.

"Now, Toshi tells me about what had happened in the past years when you were gone."

"Well to start off, those kids already knew about my condition, though unintentionally."

"Wait, they found out regarding your wound!?"

"That's right, I've found the boy, Izuku to be just like me. A boy who has a dream for the people and symbolizes what a hero should be. At that moment I realize that I'm not immortal and sooner or later I'll be gone."

David was silent realizing that his friend was right. Even if he succeeded in finding ways to repair the damage, AllMight would still eventually die like any other human unless they have an immortal quirk.

"I-I understand now. Still, I would try my best to find a way to extend your life enough to see the next generation rise."

"Thank you, my friend. I will also try my best to give everything to ensure that the next generation of heroes will surpass the old one.

AlMight could already see the rising burning flame of aspiration when the people have a smile on their face.

"Hey as a side note, do you have any dating tips? Also, add some tips on being a father too."

The intense atmosphere went down the drain when David heard his friend speak about dating and being a father.

"Wait what? Don't tell me you started dating someone? Since when? How?"

"Woah there, Dave. One question at a time."

AllMight sweatdropped hearing his friend calming him down. David realizes his action and quickly apologies but then opted for a smirked smile.

"Oh sorry but I can't help it after hearing that you start dating someone. So who's the lucky girl?"

As the two have their conversation, within a room where an array of spider cages were displayed a single one was missing from its glass cage. It crawled its way through the room and made spider webs in a particular room.

Meanwhile, Izuku and his friends are walking around the I-Island seeing many places to explore and try.

"Hey, nerd! You guys go ahead without me, I'm going to this villain attack attraction I heard about." Katsumi said.

"Whatever, just make sure you don't get lost. I don't want to hear about a missing explosive kid." Izuku tease her.

"Go fuck yourself! I'm outta here, later nerd!"

Katsumi went off somewhere leaving the rest of her friends behind. Izuku only chuckled while Melissa was a bit confused.

"Why do you keep fighting...aren't you two friends?" Melissa asked.

"We are! That's just the way we speak to each other." Izuku somewhat knows that Katsumi is a Tsundere who have hard time being honest with her feelings.

"Get used to it, Melissa-san. The two will always bicker as they are childhood rivals. Anyway, why don't you continue our tour?" Itsuka said.

"Sure! How about we visit the exhibit."

Melissa excitedly said they were guided through a wide display of countless technology and machinery made by the genius within the I-Island.

The two tech geniuses got along with their fascination in tech. They share the same passion after being diagnosed being quirkless with Melissa giving up on being a hero while Izuku kept moving forward.

This made her wonder if it was too late in becoming a hero. She started to reign it as her childhood dream when Izuku and her uncle said that a hero is not about power but the heart. If it was then villains can be a hero.

"And this is the latest liquid-based Nanomachine that is currently in development."

"Interesting. Damn I wish I had the budget and smartness to make this." Izuku said.

"Have you all decided on the design of your suit?" Melissa asked.

"Izuku made some designs for us." Momo said.

"Really may I look at it?" Melissa asked and Izuku took out his notebook out of nowhere.

"Still wonder where you hide that thing." Mizuna said.

Izuku showed the design and features of the costume that his friends needed. Melissa was impressed at how detail they were.

"Woah, you even figured out some of my support items." Melissa saw the notes and was surprised her invention were included.

"Our Izuku-sama is really a genius when it comes to this." Himiko said.

"Agree, Izuku is really great." Tohru added.

"Sama?" Melissa was confused by this but decide not to dwell too much and looked at the design.

"Wait, it says here you can make Adamantium and Vibranium?" Melissa is shocked having recalled the metals from pre quirk eras fiction.

"Ah yes, Izuku has helped me figure out the formula." Momo excluded that Tohru had helped having similar ores that had this property laying around on her dimensional inventory.

"That's awesome! If you don't mind, can you make one? Just a small one."

"Sure, I don't mind."

Momo already memorized it since the material is extremely useful in combat. Vibranium is especially beneficial when it comes to building her body as it steals kinetic energy.

She handed a small piece of metal to Melissa who excitedly examined the object. It felt different than any metal that she's ever seen or felt. The ore was the size of marble yet the weight is the same despite being metal.

"Amazing! It's really lighter than normal metal. Does it absorb kinetic energy like in this comic?"

"Yeah! Though it's still less durable than the actual metal since this is just a replica."

"Is that so? Here."

"No, you can have it. Maybe have run some tests on it."

"Really? Thanks, Yaoyorozou"

"Please just call me Momo."

"Alright, Momo."

They continued their exploration until Izuku grew hungry and headed to grab some lunch. Melissa was surprised to see a mountain of food on the table.

"Woah this food is really top class but why are they expensive?" Camie remarked.

"Good thing we have cards that give us a huge discount." Jiro said.

"Hey, I've been wondering, what was that about the Deku thing?" Mizuna asked.

"Yeah, Izu-chan, you've been keeping secrets from us?" Itsuka asked.

"Spill it, Izuku. You've already been caught." Jiro said.

"Agree, now tell us about being a researcher of I-Island without being in the island?" Momo added.

"And you didn't tell us about it?" Himiko exclaimed.

"It's kind of a long story so sit back and relax. It started when I was around 12 when I published an article about the quirks and ideas in machines that could dampen quirk to be used on villains."

He had used Eraserhead, the underground hero whose ability is to erase someone's quirk. The limitation of his is unknown as he had little involvement in the media.

However, Izuku manages to have clear theories and ideas for a device that could nullify their quirk. Though it would only work if it was worn constantly by the person like a handcuff.

As they were enjoying their conversation, a loud explosion could be heard in the distance that made Izuku smile.
