Hornals Last Gift

While Jason and company are helping Mikail work through Hornals death. The Creed Militia takes the rest of the lower city. A few Creed soldiers found them and helped them take Hornals body to the temporary base where Commander Hail and the rest of the Creed leadership were.

Upon seeing Hornals body Commander Hails looks at Mikail, who's eyes are still red and puffy from crying, and says "Mikail, I'm sorry. I know he was your caretaker for most of your life. But because he knew this might happen he gave something to me in the event of his passing." Hail turns around and motions for the others to follow.

As the group follows behind somberly Commander Hail begins talking again. "I have to say Hornal was a man of great will to have held onto this gift for so long and not give into the temptation of using it. These things are quite rare. So rare in fact that I almost used myself." He says scratching his head in shame. He reaches a door, opens it and walks towards a chest with the symbol of the Creed on it. He rummages through the chest for a couple of minutes and finally stands pulling out a book with a note attached on the front. "This is a Grimoire. It'll give you an ability that will set you on a whole other level than what your at now." He hands the Grimoire to Mikail. "I would read that as soon as possible."

"Understood. Thank you Commander." Mikail says.

"You guys stay here. You've done a lot for us. Rest up you might need it soon." Commander Hail says.

"Thank you sir." They all say.

The building they are in looks to be an inn. They all go up to the same room. "Well I'm going to get some rest guys." George says.

"Yeah me too." Trinity, Blake and Lillian all agree.

After about five minutes the others are asleep. With only Mikail and Jason awake the two sit in a bit of uncomfortable silence. "So..... are you going to....ya know.....read the note? And the book." Jason asks.

"I know how Horn... my father worked. This note probably says exactly what he told me as well as explaining what the book is." Mikail says. "I am going to read the Grimoire. I'm coming with you. When you go home that is. I'm coming. I have nothing left here. No family no friends. Most of the Creed viewed me as a freak because of my powers. But I'm useful so they keep me around. So I'm coming with."

"Oh. Well. Yeah I guess if that's what you want." Jason said a little stunned.

As Jason falls silent Mikail pulls off the note and reads it. He was right. This had everything Hornal had told him in person. It brought tears back to Mikails eyes. The last part of the note told him that the Grimoire holds a Gravity based power. It also gives him some idea as to how use the power. As Mikail looks back up at Jason, who is now slumped against the wall, then begins reading.
