(Recap: Nia loses her memory. Roy was advised to stay away from Nia for a month because she will need time for her memories to come back.) Roy Charles Dear dairy today is exactly one month since I last saw Nia in the hospital. Today as I was leaving tommy’s restaurant and take away after completing my business meeting I saw Nia walking out of her dance studio. I still remember the day she got it 4 years ago As I was sitting on the swing reading a book I looked up to see uncle David coming towards me. Roy can I ask you something? Yes uncle David is there something that I can help you with I ask him. Roy in 2 months its Nia’s 16th birthday I wanted to ask you what do you think will be the best gift for her? I came up with a few ideas I wanted to ask you to help me decide on the best option: • 1. Get her a German Sheperd puppy. • 2. Her own dance studio since I know you both like dancing and teaching each other new steps . • 3. A shopping voucher Uncle David the best gift I know that Nia will love is a dance studio. I know the perfect place that is currently for sale. We can make this a gift from both of us. How can we do that Roy? Since I know Nia’s preferences I can design and decorate it while you can do the paperwork to ensure the property is on her name. Best idea don’t you think? Okay so I was thinking of putting a 10 meter mirror on this wall with a railing about a meter away from the glass so that Nia can practice and using her refection to see her mistakes. This wall I want to break it down to put a sliding door that has a draw string curtain that way she will have a wonderful view of the ocean. The walls around this door should be painted as if you are watching a sunset with the colours orange, pink and blue. On the sides of the door we can paint some birds. The wall opposite the sliding door we can have black sofa’s with an oak type coffee table in the middle of both overlooking the master piece. By the entrance I wanted to have high glass doors with blinds. On the spare wall we can have pictures of Nia with her Dance teacher Mrs Steward. Through this door we can have a shower with a cupboard in which Nia can store her spare clothes and anything else she wants to store here. This is my vision uncle what do you think? Roy after listening to the way you described your plans I am 100% glad that we are doing this together because even if I hired the towns best designers to make this her place they would never have been able to make this place according to her taste and styles. Let’s go talk to the broker . The quicker we finalize this place the quicker we can start. Mr Matthews we would like to make an offer to purchase this property however I only have two months to renovate this place into a dance studio. Do you want to make the payment now since it takes 3 working days for the papers to be drawn and transfer of ownership? Yes Mr Matthews send me the banking details so that I can make payments. I also want the property to be put on my daughter , Nia Brown’s name. Yes sir I will have the documents drawn and emailed to you. Roy I have a meeting to get to which will only take an hour do you want me to drop you off at home or do you want to go to the mall to buy the decoration things and I can meet you back there after the meeting? Uncle David can you please drop me of at home I want to tell mom that I might be late. (while on the road home) Are you sure that you don’t need my help with anything? Yes uncle David I will be fine. Okay Roy but here take the card that I keep for Nia to use. Thank you uncle David for giving me this opportunity to do something wonderful I won’t let you down. I know you won’t Roy I will see you later bye. Time skip Roy this place looks amazing, is it all ready for the big reveal tomorrow? Yes uncle David I can’t wait to see Nia’s reaction. Il meet you at 8am then together we can give the gift. Nia’s birthday morning Good morning princess happy birthday. Thank you dad. (knock knock)Dad I am going to open the door. Good morning Nia happy birthday these white roses are for you. I have another surprise for you but that is for tonight. Thank you Roy I can’t wait come in mum just made pancakes. Nia it’s time for your presents uncle David says after we finish breakfast. This gift is from mom and I including Roy we hope you love this just as much as we all love you. As we get closer to the studio I put a blindfold on Nia’s eyes, I can’t tell you how nervous I am what if she doesn’t like the way I designed this place but on the other hand I made it the way she always described how she would one day own her own studio. Nia princess we are here are you ready? Yes dad she says to uncle David as he takes her hand to lead her to the entrance. Inside the Studio all our friends are here: Sam, Stanley, Alice, Lucy, Ashley and James. We have a cake on the table. Sam lights the candles as soon as we take the blindfolds off. Happy birthday Nia everyone shouts as we sing. After Nia blows off the candles we switch the lights on. I quickly grab my camera to take a photo of her reaction as she looks around her studio, I have never seen her this happy with tears of excitement and wonder rolling down her rosy cheeks (her blushing) as she looks at her name on the door stating that she is the owner I hold back my tears as I watch Nia walking past me. I quickly run behind her calling her name.
