C22: The Blind Hawkeye

"Wha — Kid! Don't tell me that you're planning to..." before Riza could speak up, Alan grasped her hand and dragged her into the crowd.

He grabbed Winry's hand too. Lucy followed Riza, still clinging on to her dress.

"Kid! We don't know if we could beat the dragon or not! Plus, isn't finding clues about the Blood Stone our priority here?" Riza refused but Alan didn't let go.

However, Riza didn't want Alan to let go of her hand either. Alan's hand felt warm, hard, and comforting at the same time. Her body didn't refuse to let him touch her.

"Mmm!" She mumbled.

"Oh no! Did I touch your breast again?!" Lucy asked Riza. "What!? No, you idiot!" Riza blurted, her face going red.

'What the fuck have I gotten myself into??!' Alan thought, dragging the three of them into the crowd.

The whole crowd filled with whispers, but there was no voice loud enough to accept the quest. Then, a grey-haired boy came through the crowd, dragging 3 women behind him.

"Here! We'll accept your quest!" Alan raised his hand, declaring his favor.

The whole crowd turned their heads to see who it was to go against a dragon head-on.

"What?! A group of kids!? Are you serious!? And... Are you a... I don't even sense much mana in you boy!" A demon in the crowd screamed out.

"Tch! Not like I chose to be transmigrated this way..." Alan told himself, trying to find the bastard who said that.

But before another commotion stars in the crowd, the old man yelled out, pointing his hand at the four youngsters in the middle of the crowd.

"Now those are some future Legends! The Future of the King's Guard! Here are some real men and women!" The man praised them like they were Legends, not knowing that there was a Legend in the group.

"Thank you, thank you, good sir." Alan waved his hand at the man and then cheered back to the crowd.

"Thank you very much... My only child has been trapped by an enemy to the crown. Please, do not let that evilness go!" The noble mother said to the young grey-haired boy.

"It's our honor, m — your highness..." Alan bowed to the noblewoman, but his feet didn't manage to bow correctly. He was bowing to a woman of lesser class, but right now, it seemed like the tables had turned.

"No, it's my pleasure." The noble lady bowed back to him.

'Now that feels right... Finally!'

But he had one question unanswered. Who was this noblewoman who he had never seen before? He doubted.

"Madam... Can you tell me which house you are from?"

The crowd silenced upon hearing this and all of their eyes darted to the boy.

"Who does he think he is?"

"Not knowing Miss Lily of house Laderal! What impudence is this? Blasphemy!"

Alan sweated after hearing these words from the crowd. 'Impudence? What impudence! I didn't even remember which one of my sons ruled house Laderal!' He thought.

"As they say, young one. I am the Lady of House Laderal. I guess that you're a foreigner from another kingdom... So you must have a doubt. No worries... If you please, help my child. I cannot bear to lose my only child!" The woman said, with respect.

Alan got lucky at that one. If a noble ever got questioned of their nobility, a kick will land on your face... But in this case, she needed his help? So why would she?

"We will bring back your son, no matter the cost." The young boy stood up with honor, with a hand to his chest to make the vow.

The sun had already started to set on the high mountains in the distance. Alan saw this and quickly turned to the old man.

"Old man! Can you tell us the situation?" Alan asked from the old fat guy, wearing a top hat and a gentleman's coat.

"The mission is simple. You slay the dragon before the protective charm on the prince runs out! And for the boy to be taken out of that rock... The dragon must be slain, for, the curse had bound the boy's life to the very dragon itself."

'Harsh situation." Alan shrugged, stepping back. Now, he turned to his aces to ask for help.

"You three! Are you ready!?" The boy asked the girls. Honestly, he could only depend on them until he manages a clean way to fight with them. He hasn't even swung a sword in this life yet, neither had he activated his soul power by gathering some souls.

Riza and Winry stared at her, and Lucy's grip on Riza's dress loosened.

Lucy sensed the presence of the boy by using her special mana skill, by sensing the Qi that flowed through the Earth. Then, she sensed the presence of the dragon in the waters nearby.

"Hmm... If we work together, we can take on that dragon. And just to make sure that you know... It's a 5th Grade Dragon that had surrounded the boy..." she said to the team.

Alan's jaw dropped upon hearing her words. "Wha — Did I just... Kill all of us?"

"Hmm... Interesting. I'd like to feed on those thousand souls that the dragon has in it. I thought it was going to be boring... But things just got interesting." Riza clenched her fists, smirking like a devil.

Alan was dumbfounded to see these 3 women acting in this astonishing way.

Alan stared at the large storm cloud surrounding the lakeside. The storm hasn't begun yet... So things were not that hard.

But even then, the sun was setting. And the barrier didn't spread long enough to reach the area covered with water, neither could the circle be drawn in water.

"How about we go now? I can sense the charm around the boy weakening... The prince won't be alive for much longer." Lucy muttered to the group, sensing the barrier around the boy weakening.

Alan was much impressed to see the blind little girl seeing things that even they could not.

"Your eyes may be closed... But in skill, you surpass all my Hawkeyes," Alan said to the girl.

'Wha – my Hawkeyes?' Riza and Lucy stared at the boy, confused. Winry glanced at the boy from the back with a blank face.

"Hehe... I was just, going with the flow..." Alan scratched his head, smiling at the girls awkwardly.

"The boy only has minutes to survive," Lucy warned the group once more. Alan nodded at her and gestured the team to move out.

The whole crowd surrounded the edge of the harbor, looking at the performance of the youngsters. There was a single tiny boat at the edge that could hardly fit 4 people. It was the boat given to save the prince of house Ladarel.

"Sigh... Let's go, team!" Alan shook his head and jumped onto the boat.

"Unlock the Hydro Blade!"
