Wake-up Call

Two days had passed before Rune and Tera were freed from the effects of the Barrier Eater's paralysis. Tera had woken up the following day after they were taken to the shrine barracks but there was little they could do except rest until they regained their mobility.

After his ears were healed he took the time to explain to everyone about the unknown monster he had fought. His words were hard for the priestesses to take in. It was unheard of for there to be a monster capable of devouring barriers. That was why what happened next left them all the more skeptical.

"Are you sure you saw correctly?" The squad leader had asked. She had gone with her team to investigate the barrier room and locate a corpse but there was nothing there. There were indeed signs of battle but they could just as easily have been from the second princess's fight against the enemy general.
