The Ark hurtled through space, engines roaring as it broke away from the Imperial prison. Inside the cockpit, the atmosphere was thick with the weight of everything that had just happened. Prella was seated beside Tazra, her breathing steadying after the intense battle with Lilith Nyx. Ethan leaned against the bulkhead, staring out the viewport, deep in thought.
They had barely escaped. Ethan's mind still swirled with questions, about Lilith, about Celos Vex, and about the strange hesitation Lilith had shown. What had held her back? For someone who had spent her entire life being the Empire's perfect weapon, why was she now pulling her punches?
Prella broke the silence first. "She could have killed me," she said softly, her eyes fixed on the stars outside. "I felt it. She had the chance, but... she didn't."
