Ethan Warren paced the command deck of the Ark, his mind still reeling from the revelations on Shergago. The visions, the trials, the knowledge of Celos Vex, it all weighed heavily on him. Prella, Nova, and Vala stood around him, each watching him with a mix of concern and curiosity. They had been through hell together, but this was different. This was personal.
He stopped pacing and turned to face them. The dim lights of the command deck cast shadows across his face, giving him a haunted look. "I learned more than I ever wanted to know back on Shergago. The Adar, their fall... and Celos Vex." He ran a hand through his hair, the memory of the Ether whispering in his mind. "Vex is the one behind the Shadow Council, and he's got an army at his command that could wipe out everything."
Prella narrowed her eyes, her arms crossed over her chest. "We've fought impossible odds before, Ethan. What makes this so different?"
