As the plane soared through the skies towards Queensland, Selina, Natasha, and Brandy settled into their seats, their minds filled with anticipation and curiosity. Brandy was particularly animated, eager to find her father, Ash, who held vital information about the evil that plagued their lives. She knew he had faced incredible challenges before, including a battle with the sky-high giant Kandarian demon armed with only a tank and the Kandarian blade.
Brandy leaned forward, her eyes shining with excitement, as she recounted the tale to Selina and Natasha.
"You won't believe it, but my dad and his friends actually time-traveled back in time to retrieve the second Necronomicon. The first one had fallen into hell, along with the giant demon, so they had to go back and get another. And let me tell you, those deadites—they can disguise themselves as regular humans, and they can take any form. They can use your memories against you. So you never know who's a friend or a foe."
Brandy explained.
Natasha's curiosity was piqued. "But how do you fight something like that? How do you know who to trust? There must be a way to identify them, right?"
Brandy nodded solemnly, "That's the tricky part. Deadites have certain weaknesses and strengths. They can be killed by decapitation or dismemberment, but they're fast, relentless, and has superpowers. They can also possess people, turning them into mindless killers. The only way to be sure is to test them and see if they react to certain things that humans wouldn't. Like hitting them or making them angry."
Selina listened intently, her eyes wide. "And what about your father's friends, Kelly and Pablo? How did you all get separated?"
A hint of sadness crossed Brandy's face. "After we retrieved the second book, things went south. The evil version of Ruby, a demon we thought was on our side, turned against us. She stole the second book and betrayed us, throwing us into a portal. We ended up here, in a different time and place."
Natasha frowned. "That sounds terrible. But why did your father decide to search for the Necronomicon in the first place? How did it all begin?"
Brandy took a deep breath, gathering her thoughts. "It all started when my dad found the book accidentally. He went to a cabin in the woods with his friends until he stumbled upon it in the basement. It all started from there. Deadites started terrorizing everyone, and my dad had no choice but to fight back. That's when he became Ash Williams, the badass demon slayer."
Selina's eyes sparkled with fascination. "Your father sounds like quite the hero."
Brandy grinned proudly. "He definitely is. He's faced unimaginable horrors and fought against them with everything he had. And now we just need to go to the address he mailed us, and we can reunite with them and put an end to the evil once and for all. Dad always has a plan."
A sudden scream pierced the air, jolting Selina, Natasha, and Brandy out of their conversation. The passengers around them turned their heads in alarm, their eyes wide with fear. Brandy's heart raced as she instinctively reached for a weapon that wasn't there.
But thanks to Selina's and Natasha's hero status and the urgency of their mission, they had been granted permission to carry their weapons on the plane.
Natasha swiftly drew her handgun while Selina uncoiled her whip, ready for action. Brandy cursed herself for not having a weapon of her own, and she grabbed a food tray.
They followed the direction of the scream and saw a commotion a few rows ahead. A middle-aged man, his face contorted in terror, was cornered by a seemingly innocent-looking woman.
"Hey, bitch," Brandy slammed the tray on her head, "Missed me?" She recognized the subtle signs of possession—the way that woman was walking and the black patches on her legs clearly gave away the deadite's identity.
"Ash's bloodline! I am gonna turn your insides out motherfucking whore... Aaaaaahahaha!" the deadite turned back and lunged at Brandy. Her eyes were faded white and deep scars were all over her face.
Seline used her whip on Brandy's waist and pulled her back.
Without hesitation, Natasha fired an electric dart, aiming for the possessed woman's head. The dart found its mark, delivering a powerful shock that sent the deadite flying backward, releasing its hold on the man. The passengers gasped in disbelief as the woman convulsed on the floor, temporarily incapacitated.
[Bang!] Natasha shot, splattering the deadites head all over the floor.
"You alright?" Natasha asked, looking at the trembling man.
The man nodded, his voice trembling. "Th-thank you. I don't know what happened. She seemed so normal, and then...it was like she wasn't herself anymore."
"Wait! He is a deadite," Brandy yelled.
"What are you talking about?" The man stuttered.
Selina swang her whip and wrapped it around that man's neck.
Natasha didn't waste any time. So far, everything Brandy said was raw truth, and since her father can detect evils, there is a possibility that Brandy, too, has inherited that ability.
[Bang!] [Bang!] Natasha shot the man's legs.
"You whores!!!" The man yelled. His voice overlapped with another sinister voice that made everyone's blood chill, "We are going to fuck you for eternity in hell."
"Go, fuck yourself," Natasha shot it dead.
As the passengers around them whispered in hushed tones, the trio of heroes remained vigilant, scanning the plane for any signs of further disturbance. They knew that their mission had taken an unexpected turn, but they were prepared to face the evil head-on, even at 30,000 feet.
Luckily, there weren't any more deadites.
After scanning every passenger for the third time, they used Natasha's sharp metal strings to cut those deadites into tiny pieces to prevent another unnecessary incident.
The trio took a deep breath, their adrenaline still pumping from the fight. They quickly realized that their mission was more urgent than they had previously thought and that the evil was closer than they had anticipated.
Brandy looked at Selina and Natasha with newfound respect. "You guys are amazing. I can't believe you just killed two deadites that fast."
Selina smiled wryly. "We're just doing our job. But we need to stay focused and ensure public safety."
Natasha nodded in agreement. "We need to be careful. They can be anywhere."
[Passenger's conversations]
"So the news was real. Real demons walking among us..."
"We barely survived thanks to Black Widow and Cat Woman..."
"Isn't this shit pretty much fucked up? I mean, what's next? A thousand feet long demon?"
"The heroes should make an official announcement about this threat..."
"They did inform us about these demons last week, but how many of you believed?"
"Fuck! Demons are walking among humans... Is this the end of the world?"
"It must be someone using their awakened powers to commit crimes."
"That's possible, but can you really throw out the possibility of them being real demons?"
"God, save us."
Some prayed while others gossiped about the situation.
...
Just then, the captain's voice came over the intercom. "Ladies and gentlemen, we apologize for the disturbance. We have encountered some turbulence, but everything is under control. We will be landing in Queensland shortly."
As the plane began its descent, Brandy felt a knot in her stomach. They were so close to finding her father and putting an end to the evil that had plagued their lives for so long. But at the same time, she knew that the danger was far from over.
They landed smoothly, and Brandy could feel the excitement building inside her. They had made it this far, and she knew that her father was out there, waiting for them.
Natasha called in the nearest Shield's base. And as soon as they landed, the heroes were ready with a place to burn the deadites. They took the deadites' pieces and burned them to ashes.
As they walked out of the airport, Brandy spotted Ash, Kelly, and Pablo waiting for them in a car.
