25 Relationship Changed 

"Everyone has the right to look forward to the future, and you are no exception." Su Jing advised Gu Jue. 

She nodded her head firmly as she thought, 'You, the villain from the original novel, will live to see the end. I am counting on you to be my main support.'

Su Jing would give him the best treatment she could. For her, it was all an investment for her future in the story. Su Jing thought about it while also feeling sorry for Gu Jue.

"Are you sure you don't want me to leave?" Gu Jue asked while Su Jing was pushing his head to face forward to look at the road. It was too dangerous to drive without looking at the road.

"No, didn't I tell you the other day that you can stay with me as long as you want? My home is your home." Su Jing said in a sincere tone.

Gu Jue did not say another word as tears welled up in his eyes.

What was home? Could he have a home?

Su Jing knew she couldn't get anything out of him by seeing him like this. She decided to be more direct.

She asked, "I'm sure you still haven't settled your tuition fees for the next semester, right? I'll pay for your tuition fees. Once school starts, you can go back to school. I'll keep your room for you, and you can come back whenever you want."

Hearing this, Gu Jue was shocked, and his eyes lit up with hope. Ever since his family kicked him out, he did not have the money to go to school and eat. That was why he wanted to stay at Su Jing's place, but how did she know all this?

"How did you know about the tuition fees..."

"I…" Su Jing paused for a moment and immediately found an excuse to brush him off, "I just guessed it. You can't even afford the medicine to treat your illness. How could you have the money to pay for your tuition fees?"

She couldn't possibly say that she had read the original book and knew that he had no money, so she had to support him financially, right? That was too ridiculous.

Gu Jue knew what Su Jing said was the truth, but he felt a little uncomfortable. He realized that he didn't want to be looked down upon by Su Jing. He didn't want to be a liability to Su Jing.

"I don't have the money, but I can work to earn money. I can earn enough to pay my own tuition fees." Gu Jue gritted his teeth stubbornly. 

"Give me some time. Don't abandon me. I won't drag you down. I'm a man of my word."

Su Jing didn't overthink it. She didn't want to be misunderstood by Gu Jue again, so she explained, "I don't mean to look down on you, nor do I think that you are a burden. I simply want to help you. You are having health issues. What if you have a heart attack while you're working? Your tuition fees are expensive. What kind of job would pay you that much in a month?"

Su Jing comforted him. She then took out a card from her bag and handed it to Gu Jue, "Take the money here and pay for your tuition fees."

Gu Jue did not move.

Su Jing knew Gu Jue had his pride. So, she smiled gently, "Can you just take it as me lending it to you? You can return it to me when you have money in the future. If you don't accept it, I will feel terrible."

Gu Jue turned his head and looked at her. His lips moved, but in the end, he didn't say anything.

Su Jing simply stuffed the card into his hand. This amount of money was nothing to Gu Jue in the future, but to Gu Jue now, it was like a spring in the desert to quench his thirst.

Gu Jue did not reject her again. He held the card tightly and said, "I borrowed this money from you. I will definitely return it to you in the future."

"OK."

In reality, Su Jing had no intention of letting him repay the money. However, if she didn't say it like that, she was afraid that Gu Jue would overthink it.

"I will remember everything you've done for me. When I have the ability, I will repay you a hundred times over."

Gu Jue promised solemnly. His expression did not look like he was joking at all.

"That's not important. I'm helping you because I want to help you, not because I want to burden you. You just need to take good care of yourself."

Su Jing was afraid that Gu Jue would try too hard to return the favor and would end up going down another dark path, so she tried to persuade him.

"Don't worry. I will take good care of myself and you."

This was the first time Gu Jue had such a strong desire to take care of a woman.

His feelings for Su Jing seemed to be changing.
