1 A Hungry Ghost

"Ah… Why are you so handsome?" Yang Mi said huskily.

Yang Mi stared at the sleeping figure on the bed.

It had been an hour since she'd been staring at the face of the sleeping man and still, she couldn't get enough of it even after seeing the same face for a couple of days. She could only gawk at it like a predator, ready to pounce on her prey.

Long and thick eyelashes that framed the outline of his eyes. High nose, and thin lips. The man had a harsh and cold face at a glance but she'd seen him smile before and honestly, Yang Mi almost died twice after seeing that.

His face could simply hit the top bar as one of those handsome celebrities and he even had the body of a model, making Yang Mi drool every single time she saw him naked in the bathroom.

He was definitely beautiful and masculine at the same time. His face could easily enchant several women without him even trying. However, even after staying in that place and trying to get his attention, the man never noticed her presence nor did he see her existence.

Well, that was expected since Yang Mi wasn't a living person.

She was a being in between the realm of the living and the dead. A being that you'd only see in horror movies hunting down a person or a couple of individuals that will eventually be exorcised.

In simple words, she's a ghost.

But compared to what the horror movies commonly portrayed, ghosts aren't that scary looking, only those who died in a gruesome way. For example, the uncle on the floor below who died in a car accident and had his eyes hanging down its socket and chunks of his brain were missing.

There's also the nicest Auntie she's seen in the lobby, who was stabbed by her husband because he wanted her money but in the end, didn't get a cent of her money because she was smart to keep her money on her other bank account.

And then, there's Yang Mi, a ghost who has an intact body. No entrails hanging from her body. No blood stains on her crisp white short dress. And certainly, no blemish in her pale translucent skin.

Every ghost has lived their lives and died in different ways but sometimes, dead people have been overpopulated that their causes of death were copy-pasted.

Yang Mi couldn't remember how she died, but she knew that she stayed in this world more than a thousand years as an invisible ghost.

She's seen her share of things and watched the world and its people change through time. And it was neither good nor bad. People are bound to change with time and only beings that are meant to stay as they are will suffer forever.

However, being a ghost over the past thousand years has its own advantages. One of them was; a ghost can stalk someone without being mistaken as a stalker and doesn't need to answer to the law when caught in the act.

In her case, she didn't mind being a ghost for a few more years if she could drool over this handsome man.

Sadly, being a ghost also has its disadvantages.

It has been more than a week since she stumbled on that place. For years, she's been aimlessly visiting every city. However, she never felt any kind of satisfaction in traveling.

She could travel for years and see any kind of scenic places but it was pointless. She couldn't even take a picture of herself in a camera without scaring other people. What's so fun about that, right? She couldn't even buy anything as a souvenir since she had no possession of what the humans called money.

As a ghost, there are tons of things you couldn't do unlike when you're still alive. Most ghosts didn't have the ability to touch anything. But there's a ghost too who has strong spiritual energy that they could do some tricks and move things around. And one of the factor of how strong they are was their ages. It was meant to scale how strong their spiritual energy.

However, there seems to be a mistake here.

If that was true then why the hell can she not touch the man sleeping beside her? Yang Mi grumbled and cursed at the people above the Heavens, wishing they could explain to her what was really happening?

She's been cultivating for a thousand years as a ghost. She was considered a strong ghost that exorcists have troubles in expelling from this world. And yet, she couldn't just lay her hands on the man and touch him in the way she wanted!

"Ahh… If only I could touch him."

Over the course of a week, she has been looking for a way to touch him. Searching far and wide for a method that could tell her how to touch him but alas, the man has too much Yang on his body. He was the embodiment of the sun and presented his kind, the living humans.

While Yang Mi is the opposite as she lived in the dark. A being so dangerous and wicked that even other beings feared her.

"Aiyoo... He looks so yummy."

Yang Mi continued to wipe the saliva dripping down her chin and quickly wiped it on her crisp white dress. Her red eyes continued to stare at his handsome face without disguising her fascination and wished she could touch his face.

However, little did she know.

A certain sleeping man was trying his best to keep his eyes closed and ignore the drooling female ghost beside him as he continued to pray in his mind that the ghost would leave him alone and disappear.
