Chapter 9

Misty plan to free Kyan is perfect for her, and no one is going to stop her. Night had come, and the sky was now filled with stars, but the moon was nowhere to be seen. Misty was now wandering around the town square, where guards were patrolling everywhere. now that Kyan is in prison, King Henry must have tightened guard throughout the kingdom. Misty manages to avoid all the guards. Looks like the time she spends with Kyan increases her stealth skill, making her as quiet as a cat herself. He hides in one of the bushes near the castle to open her map, she can barely see anything, it's so dark.

Until a mysterious but familiar blue light glows weakly in the dark, you can barely see the light. Misty can feel a familiar touch of fur beside her, she looks to her right and saw a Skiter with a pair of red eyes. Misty was a little surprised, she was not expecting to meet another Skiter else than Kyan tonight.

"hello" Misty greet quietly but friendlily, the Skiter didn't answers but Misty just smiled at him before giving the SKiter a scratch on the back of his ears. With the help of the Skiter's strange glow of light, Misty can see the map now. She then gets out of her hiding spot with the Skiter following right behind her.

Meanwhile, Jack, the 'prince of werewolf' is trying to find a way to get out of his cell and escape the dungeons so he can go back to the forest. While Kyan, on his cell, is just curling up in his cat form like a ball. Jack then shouted from his cell, "Oy! Kitty!! Stop emo and help me!" But there's no answer from Kyan, he just stays still. Jack sighed in annoyance, "Are you deaf or something? I said help me! Idiot" Jack said before continuing his effort to escape.

From that one word, Kyan snapped back to reality and was annoyed by Jack, "oh, so I'm the idiot now?" he said angrily, "what. do. you. mean?" Jack said, annoyed too. Jack growls quietly while Kyan is now back to his half-human form and giving Jack a death stare. Jack is a little scared of Kyan, he's facing the strongest creature that ever walk on Earth.

Kyan can sense Jack's fear, he smirks, he enjoys making other people scared and it's a bad habit. "who's the scaredy-cat now?" Kyan tease, making Jack more annoyed. "there's no use, Jack, we're not going to go anywhere, there's no way we'll escape," Kyan said, his tone is cold and serious, but Jack is not gonna give up. "Oh yeah?! How do you know?!" Jack asked angrily, Kyan look at him, his gaze is so cold it gives Jack shivers. Kyan didn't answer for a few moments, "because... me and my brother make this place" he answered, his gaze is still cold but there was a hint of sadness in his eyes. Kyan looks away, he went deeper into his cell, and the shadows.

The moonlight shines into the dungeon and Kyan's cell, it shines to the wall where there are some words written on it. Kyan went closer to the wall and brush off the dust that was covering the wall. On the wall, there's Kyan's name written on it, and right beside his name is another name, Jay. Kyan smiles a little as he carefully caresses the name, there's sadness in Kyan's eyes that he can't hide, "it's been a while since we visit this place... right, brother?" he mumbles, trying to hold back his tears

Meanwhile, with the help of the skiter, Misty manages to sneak into the castle. They meet some guards and almost got caught a few minutes ago, but thanks to the Skiter, they manage to escape them without getting caught. Misty was now in the castle's hallway, with the Skiter leading the way. It might sound weird, but Misty had a feeling that the Skiters knows where to go as if he lives here. The Skiter knows every corner and turns in the castle, Misty is a little confused but she ignored it anyway, she needs to save Kyan.

But right after they took a left turn, the Skiter disappear. Misty starts to panic, she's alone now, and she's a little scared. Then suddenly, from the corner of her eyes, she can see a weird blue-colored light. She thought it might be the Skiter, she went closer to the light but instead of finding the Skiter, she found a tiny stone, it looks more like a crystal. The stone shone brightly and looks like a diamond. Misty slowly and carefully grabs the stone and looks at it. The stone stopped shining when she touches it, in the middle of the stone, Misty can see a shape of a paw carved on the stone it's... beautiful.

She was amazed by the stone when she heard a familiar mew from the distance, she puts the stone inside her bag before looking around the hallway for the sound, then she saw the Skiter, waiting for her in front of a wooden door. The Skiter mewed again, as if asking her to open the door, Misty gets the signal and immediately opens the door. Behind the door, there are stairs going down to a dark unknown place. Misty is a little scared, but the fact that she's not alone makes her feel brave. They then entered the dark staircases, Misty don't forget to close the door, so no one will know that someone is there. Misty can't see anything in the dark, then the Skiter starts to glow again, the familiar blue glow makes Misty feel safe. She can finally see, as the Skiter leads the way.

After a few minutes of walking, they arrived at two giant wooden doors, the door looks scary and the two torches at the right and left of them just makes the scene look way scarier. The Skiter gives a code with its tail to open the door, Misty takes a deep breath and does as the Skiter said. She slowly opens the door, revealing a huge and dark dungeon. Once again, the Skiter takes the lead with Misty following right behind. After a few minutes of walking, Misty can hear chaos happening from afar, and from the sound of it, looks like she can guess who's making all the noise and chaos.
