C city Technical University, one of the top universities in country B.

Built on the reinforced banks of the largest river in the world, it is nestled between hills on its sides, only a small pass connecting it to the outside world. Its like a small township of its own, what it being autonomous from the government while still being a government owned university.

Its summer time at city B, but global warming has led to massive weather changes, hence its not uncommon to have light drizzles in mornings, and despite how absurd it sounds the people of C city have long gotten used to it. The vegetation and biodiversity at C city university is praised throughout the country and it looks especially lush due to the light rains. Coupled with the youthfull energy from the boarding students, it university feels alive.

The ground smells of the distinct rain. The roads still patched with dark wet concrete, but it is weirdly clean. Weirdly, because last nights strong winds and rain should have left some traces, but its to be expected with how diligent the cleaning staff of the university are; they wake up before anyone else in this university.

Admist this peaceful and serene environment, there is an anomaly that is our MC.

Su Ming is a sophomore student at C city university. The semester is coming to an end and he has low attendance [classic student things]. Still he doesn't learn a thing and oversleeps. Now he is late and cycling at breakneck speeds to reach the classroom. He can't afford another absence.

Off the regular route followed by late students to their classrooms, lays the mighty C city university lake. Yes its named after the university.

Its waters still murky from last nights rai , it is a beautiful sight to behold in the mornings, alas rarely anyone stops to appreciate it. It is, though, very popular with the students, who rumor it to be an ancient oxbow lake left behind by the neighbouring mighty river, and how the it the river will reclaim it one day, drowning the campus with it. It is a tempting prospect since country B's law specifies that given the situation of a state owned university campus being destroyed, every attending student will get a free degree. The dreams of youth.

Su Ming doesn't believe in the rumor. He is a pragmatic "man" [self-believed] who has screwed over his attendance score.

There is an intersection by the lake, a good hang out spot as decided by the resident campus geese, one of who "kindly" helps our MC reach his class faster by giving chase. Maybe it's attracted by the beautiful face or maybe it's the reincarnation of a certain goose from another world, we would never know.

"What the h...", a shallow cry of discontent from our gallient hero.

He starts cycling harder, not knowing the goose has long since lost interest and returned to its breathen to do whatever geese do by a lake. Probably just stand there with uncomfortable looking neck postures.

Su Ming keeps cycling, reaching the mandatory circle at the heart of the university campus, there is an unspoken rule about only going clockwise around it. And he crashes into an oncoming cycle.

Su Ming POV:

"What the hell?!"

I am already late plus these idiots can't cycle straight. Brother I worry about your future driving license examinor.

I try to look up to which department idiot ran into me only to find "Foreigner...???????????".
