All Noah's Fault

Not long after Maya arrived home, she received a phone call from Delilah. Of course, Delilah wanted to know what happened and why her sister had gone home separately.

"Did you have an argument?" she asked straightforwardly.

Maya shook her head, "No, we didn't have an argument. But...I need to be honest with you... I can't pretend to be you anymore."

Delilah froze on the other end. Her sister had always doted on her and done everything she asked. Plus, didn't they make a deal that she would get her a job at Lotus if she helped her? Why did she suddenly change her mind?

"Why?" Delilah asked.

Maya couldn't explain everything in one go. Besides, she still needed to call Nova first to confirm everything, so she simply replied, "Lucas is a good guy. If you truly want to marry him, you should pursue him yourself. He doesn't deserve to be lied to. I have a few phone calls to make tomorrow and some things to confirm with Noah. After I'm done, I'm going to approach Lucas and tell him everything..."

Delilah's eyes opened wide in shock. She didn't like what she heard. "You can't do this to me, Sis. If he finds out we've been lying to him, I will have even less of a chance," she whined.

However, Maya was not persuaded by her whining this time. "If you're genuine with him, I'm sure he'll forgive you." [I'm sure he'll forgive me too...]

After Delilah got off the phone with Maya, she picked up her handheld mirror and looked at herself. "How am I supposed to meet him like this? Why can't that b*tch just help me a little longer? How can she go back on her words?"

She then threw the mirror onto the ground angrily, causing it to shatter. The loud noise alerted the nurses outside and they immediately ran in to see what had happened.

"Oh no, Miss Yeung, did you drop your mirror?" one of the nurses said as she quickly ran to fetch a broom.

Meanwhile, another nurse approached Delilah to check if she was OK. "Are you hurt?" she asked.

Delilah glared at the woman angrily. In a stern voice, she yelled, "Get out! I'm fine!"

The nurse stepped back, a little flustered. What had gotten over this woman? She wasn't normally this temperamental. After she helped the other nurse clean up the shattered glass, they both stepped out of the room.

Furrowing her brows in anger, Delilah picked up her phone and decided to call Sam. She needed someone to talk to at a time like this. But...

She called three times and the man did not pick up. He always picked up her calls...

At that moment, she received a phone call from Tiffany. Delilah looked at the caller ID and relaxed her brows a little. Tiffany wasn't as good at comforting her, but she was still a good listener, so she picked up and decided to complain to her instead.

It was a video call, so she held her phone in front of her and watched as Tiffany appeared on her screen. She was in a dark location with flashing lights in the background and loud music. Delilah immediately recognized the music.

Screaming over the phone, TIffany laughed, "Surprise, Dels, it's your favorite DJ! He's playing here in Vegas tonight. You can enjoy it live with us."

"DJ Dee?" Delilah gasped in surprise. She then asked in an upset tone, "Who's us?"

Delilah's reaction was a little unexpected. Tiffany thought Delilah would be happy and excited, but something seemed to be bothering her. Turning her phone slightly and pointing it towards the bar, she said, "I'm here with Sam, Dr. Brown, and Dr. Brown's friend."

Delilah squinted her eyes to take a better look and saw Sam, almost drunk with his arms around a woman that was sitting on his lap. At the same time, Dr. Brown had his hand on top of Sam's hand and he was laughing flirtatiously.

Delilah felt her anger increase. Not only had her two best friends gone to the club to watch her favorite DJ without her, but Sam seemed to be flirting happily.

Again, she didn't understand why, but she felt a pang of jealousy.

However, she looked at the scene in slight confusion. She didn't know whether she was more upset that he was flirting with Dr. Brown or the fact that he had another woman on his lap. Was she simply jealous that her best friend had been stolen away?

At that moment, the phone turned back to Tiffany's face. "You were right about Dr. Brown. He is so in love with Sam..." Tiffany said in a gossipy voice.

Without giving a response, Delilah glared at the woman and hung up the phone. She didn't want to see or hear anymore. Everything tonight seemed to annoy her.

Thinking about her situation carefully, she realized the problems all started because of one person: Noah Thompson! If he didn't approach her sister and make her question Lucas, she wouldn't have investigated him and strayed away from her original path. If she didn't stray off her path, she wouldn't have reconsidered their deal and decided not to help her anymore. Furthermore, if not for Noah Thompson's theories, Sam wouldn't be mad at her and he wouldn't have gone to the club without her. This was completely out of character for Sam. How could he party when he knew she was lying in hospital on her own?

"That's right, it's all Noah Thompson's fault!" she sneered. As she said this, she picked up her phone again and sent a message to Noah: "Come to the hospital tomorrow! We need to speak!"
