Dates and a proposal

Sabrina's pov

After the interview, the press left us alone in our bubble of love, peace, and happiness. We were happy. We had even gone on our first date and it was exquisite. I was seated at home with Jay napping when the doorbell rang I found a man with a package to sign. I was unpacking the beautifully wrapped package when I found a note written "Wear this for tonight. Meet me downstairs at seven. Love JM." The dress he had chosen was one to die for. A thin-strapped, satin, black dress with a plunging neckline and asymmetric pleats originating from the waist leaving a left side slit that isn't too revealing. I had just the right shoes to match, red peep-toe stiletto heels. With minimal make-up on, red lipstick, I accessorized my look with a gold necklace and gold earrings. I had five minutes to spare as I took the stairs down to the ground floor. But he wasn't there

As I was looking around to find him, there he was in a black tuxedo, standing handsomely tall with the limousine door open. I started walking towards him and our eyes were glued to each other like magnets. his eyes focused on each part of my body as I walked towards him and it did something to my body as it tingled everywhere in excitement. When I reached him, he held out his arm that was folded at his back and handed me a blue rose. He remembered, that I loved blue roses rather than the conventional red ones. As I took the rose from him, he engulfed me into a hug and whispered in my ear, "beautiful is an understatement." I smiled and replied, "you are not so bad yourself. But a limo seriously!" He chuckled and replied, "Get in my lady."

Inside the limo, he sat across me, and even when he tried to pretend that he wasn't looking, his eyes remained trained mostly on the skin that the slit exposed and my face rarely. When he noticed I had caught him admiring he said, " that slit will be my undoing" to which I taunted back, " you chose the dress deal with it." He laughed at my comment and replied, "the good thing is that am the only one who gets to see you in the dress all night" I could detect the possessiveness in his reply but I let it slide as it felt good to be the center of his attention all night.

The limo stopped at my favorite restaurant 'Tastes and Bites'. I had never eaten here but I had once seen its review in the Hotel Magazine and it was on my 'to-do list'. How did he know? I was going to make the most out of it. He opened my door and helped me out of the limo. I thought we were going to seat at the main hotel area like the rest of the customers but trust Jake to be extravagant and flamboyant, he chose the VIP room which contained one table and a personal waiter upstairs on the balcony where one could see the beautiful night sky of Nairobi accentuated with its tall buildings and definitely required thousands of notes to pay for the bill. I must say the view was breathtaking.

As we sat down, the waiter came to take our order. We ordered a chocolate chip milkshake for myself and a glass of Moet and Chardon imperial Brut for himself. We talked as our food was being prepared. Our food was later served, beef ribs, salad with mango flavored mayonnaise, and a spoonful of rice for myself while he opted for the chicken mega burger and we loved every single bite and occasionally feeding one another a portion of our food. For the dessert, we had vanilla cake. I was about to stand to go to the washroom when he took my hand in his arm and looked into my eyes like he wasn't sure of himself then he went down on one knee. For a moment there I thought he was going to ask for my hand in marriage until he said, "Sabrina Zawadi, you are everything I want in a woman, will you make me happy by being my girlfriend officially?" I was emotional and teary so I just nodded and when he rose to his feet, I said yes and he gave me a peck on my cheek and took me into his warm, loving embrace for a hug. The DJ put on some romantic songs and we danced to them till midnight. It was the perfect first date.

The dates to follow were spread across eight months and they comprised of movie nights, bowling, taking walks, and out-of-town drives with Marcus and Zoe among other interesting activities. Talking of Marcus and Zoe, tomorrow is their wedding. Yes, Marcus finally manned up and asked my girl out for a date, dated, and even asked for her hand and it was the best proposal I had ever seen before.

We had gone to lake Naivasha resort for the weekend. Since Zoe and I shared a room, we were woken up from our slumber by a knock on our room. Zoe woke and opened the door to find rose petals starting from our door to somewhere. When she saw them she called out, "Sab, someone has gone a long way to lead us to breakfast. First of all, I want to live here forever and secondly am famished can we go for breakfast now?" I replied jokingly, "let me pick Jay lest you eat me for breakfast." She laughed as she led the way to where the petals led until he saw Marcus on one knee, nervous near the lake and looking straight ahead at her. When she saw him he stopped inches close to him, and when he popped the question she said yes. They had chosen Jake and me to be their best couple and we were honored to accept such a huge noble responsibility.

Currently, Jay who turned one year a week ago, his babysitter, and I were at Zoe's apartment which was a beehive of activities in preparation for Zoe's wedding. My girl was going to blow Marcus away with her beauty tomorrow just wait and see.
