Adeline POV
I needed to try and find out what I could about the attack that happened on Zale’s company. I knew that it was going to be difficult. The company was not just one thing, it was made up of more than just a few subsidiaries, and it could be any of those that Sierra had been referring to.
As we walked through the mall, there was nothing I could do to get my mind off of Sierra’s words. Daluna kept trying to distract me with jewelry or tried to get me to try on clothing, but even I could tell that my focus was drifting every few minutes.
And Eliana kept asking me over and over if anything was wrong. I knew that she was more than just a little worried. Her brother had left her in charge of me, and if anything happened to me, then he would hold her responsible. So I kept reassuring her again and again that nothing had happened, that Fiona had barely spoken and Sierra had only said a few unimportant things.
