CHAPTER 257:COMPANY SPY
"As an expected mum, I knew that you won't call me without expecting a favor from me or asking me about something. So you should not say that you called to check on me. Anyway, what do you want to know?" Slyvia asked.
"I want to know how the company is operating? I heard that the chairman was jailed?" Miss Eva said.
"Why mum?" She asked.
"There is something I want to know baby," Miss Eva replied.
"The company is doing fine but our chairman was arrested some weeks ago. So the company needs a chairman, maybe you can apply. I will be delighted to work in a company with my mum you know," Slyvia said happily.
"Really! I will be very happy for my daughter but you know how my work is very demanding. I will think about that my Dear don't worry," Miss Eva said.
"Mum just apply I know madam CEO is very desperate to have a replacement. So I think she will pick you, she hasn't found a person that can match the leadership qualities of the former chairman," Slyvia explained.
"I know baby anyway thank you so much for taking your time to talk to me," Miss Eva said.
"All pleasure is my hope from today our mother-daughter relationship will be great," she said hopefully.
"Don't worry my dear, I will make time for that I want to catch up with you," Miss Eva said then hang up.
She walked towards where Miss Alice was waiting for her at the poolside to share with her what she have find out.
"Wow, this is the first time I have seen you talking that long on the phone with your daughter," Miss Alice said when Miss Eva approached where she was sitting.
"You can't imagine that, I am also surprised but I think it's a high time she knows the truth about herself before I regret not telling her earlier," Miss Eva said.
"Are you sure that you are ready to tell her, are you ready for her reactions after that?" Alice asked as she gawked at her. "Don't just do things out if hurry makes sure that you are ready for anything after you tell her the truth," Alice advised.
"You are right but I am tired of her questions every time. That's why our daughter's mother's relationship is not good. I just hope that she will understand after I tell her the truth," Eva replied.
"I will support you in your decision but make sure you are ready for anything. Don't tell her if you are not ready for it. Make sure that you have made peace with your heart," Alice said as she played with water with her leg.
She then turned to her as she said, "Anyway what did you find out about Carol?"
"My daughter told me that the chairman is indeed in jail and from the look of things he won't be out soon. That's why Eva is desperately looking for someone to replace him," she said.
"Is the position open for application?" Alice asked mischievously.
"Of course, it's up for the application, if Carol is already looking for a replacement what do you think?" Eva replied.
"Then this is a perfect time to plant a spy there, it will be in our favor because the chairman and the CEO of the company always work together, "Alice advised.
"That is a brilliant idea but do you have someone we can use as a spy? Because as for me, I don't think that I have the right candidate for that position," Eva said.
Miss Alice looked at her in a scrutinizing way then said, I know you can't fail in this because you are perfect in this sector. Just try your best, remember how difficult it was to still the legal documents from Steve Mukhongo? Imagine you did that without much struggle," Alice beamed with happiness.
"But remember I was not the one who did that, if it were not for Thomas a d Brenda we will still be lacking those papers. Mind you it worked in our favor just because Mr. Mukhongo was ending the contract with them," miss Eva clarified.
"But we can use Thomas or Brenda to do that again. If they managed to steal the legal papers then I am sure that being a spy is nothing.
"Are you out of your mind Alice, the only vacant position is for Chairman not any other casual worker position. Neither Thomas nor Brenda can't qualify for that position. I guess we will have to find another way to fish the information from that company and the woman.
"You still have an upper hand because you can tell Eva to create any vacancy in the company and with that, we can plant Thomas or Brenda as our spy. Eva won't refuse to do that you are 'good friends.'
Eva chuckled nervously then said, With that, we will be caught because Eva will know that I am using either Thomas or Brenda to get back to her. What if she ends up killing our spy. I can't tell her to create a vacancy that one is too risky," she said.
"Remember we are running out of time, I have only six years to operate this business in this country. After six years I want to transfer my business to Mexico I know I'm there I am going to thrive more than here. So I am just trying to help you out Eva, you know six years in this business is nothing," Alice explained.
"I know that Alice, I am out of ideas and I can't use my daughter to be a spy to me. I don't want to risk her life. I think I have an idea of what I will do," she said thoughtfully.
Miss Alice Smirked as she asked, "What is that idea?"
"I will have to spy Carol myself, we are friends so I know that she won't suspect me or anything," she said as she looked into space, staring into nothingness.
