CHAPTER 241: DIFFERENT PLANS

He knew long time ago that Mrs Wechuli was using him. He knew from the moment she agreed to invest in Luhyahood dream company. When his brother was still alive, he was aware of the red flags she gave him. But he was a fool to the extent of refusing to accept that he was being used and not loved.

'I can't show her that I know her plan, I will have to fool her by reporting tomorrow to work. After tomorrow, she will never see me again. The day I will see her I will have to put a bullet in her head for what she has done to me,' he thought as he continued sipping the wine.

The next day Mr Mukhongo reported to work as usual. He pretended that he didn't know what had happened the previous day.

He was so occupied on his personal computer that he didn't realize that Mrs Wechuli has entered his office. He only noticed her presence when she greeted him.

"Good morning Mr Chairman how are you?," She asked as she sat down on the chair.

"Good morning too Madam CEO, I am doing fine," he replied then turned his attention back to the computer.

"What is popping in the business world? So far so good how is the company doing?" Mr Wechuli asked.

"I think it's doing great, how about you ask more if that the Public Relations team and the marketers?, They are the one who are supposed to be knowing the scaling of the company," he replied nonchalantly.

"Anyway I asked you because you are holding a good position in this company. That's why you should be knowing everything that is happening," she reprimanded.

"Yeah, I know that and for your information I am just an interim Chairman. I know when your son returns he will be the one taking over," Mr Mukhongo said.

He was done pretending that he had no idea what is going on. He was done pleasing a person who will never be grateful if his sacrifices.

"So you mean you don't care what is going on because you are just an interim chairperson?,"She asked politely surprising Me Mukhongo. "It's okay if that's what you think about your self. If that was the truth then my son will be here in the country," she explained.

Mr Mukhongo looked at her then smiled, he was not going to fall for her trap and enticing words

"I am here to inform you that some investors are coming here today. They are requesting to read the legal documents before they agree to invest with us," Mrs Wechuli said.

That's what he was talking about, she knew her visit had something to do with the documents. She was trying to fool him because, she needed something important from her.

"But the company is doing fine why do you need the investors for?" Mr Mukhongo couldn't help but ask.

"I want to secure it's market value on the business scale that's why I need more investors. So prepared the documents," she said.

"Okay, don't worry everything is in place so go back to your office and relax as a boss you are," he replied.

"You better keep your word, I don't want any explainations when the time of the documents reaches. I don't want to lose this investors,"she said knowing well how she want her plan to work.

"When did you start doubting me sweetheart? Have I ever failed you?" Mr Mukhongo asked then chuckled nervously.

"I really don't know but this is purely business no string attached so stop calling me sweetheart," she said.

"Oh, I forgot that we are in the office, okay fine then I will be there with the papers. At what time is the meeting?" Mr Mukhongo asked.

At that moment Mrs Wechuli's phone rang when she checked it was the director of Criminal Investigation calling. She looked at Mr Mukhongo then excused herself as she walked hurriedly out of the office to receive the call.

"Hello sir," she said.

"Hello ma'am are you sure with what you have texted us?"

"Yes I am one hundred percent sure you just need to avail your officers at the address I will be sending you shortly," she said with assurance.

"If you are playing with us ma'am we are coming for you, you will have to tell us why you are disturbing us," the officer said then hung up.

Mrs Wechuli walked back to the chairman's office and said," Those are the investors I have been talking about. They are saying that we should be prepared before they arrive," she said.

"No problem, I am ready for the meeting let me save this up," Mr Mukhongo said.

"Willy you please carry those legal documents, we need to be in the boardroom,"

"Oh my brain! I forgot that I have no papers here. I am sorry I will have to go back to my house to bring them. I left them there for safe keeping, so give me forty five minutes I will be back," he said standing up in a hurry.

"This is what I was talking about, I told you that you should be prepared. Why didn't you tell me earlier that the legal documents are not here with you?" She asked annoyingly.

"I am sorry my mind was occupied so I was not thinking straight, don't worry I will be back before you know it," he said then picked up his suitcase as he walked out of the office.

Mr Wechuli followed him behind as she thought,' I know that you think you are ahead of me. I know you don't have those documents,' she smiled smugly.

"Please hurry up, but remember to drive safely your life is important than those papers," she said as she looked at him entering the lift.

Mr Mukhongo just smiled and pressed the lift to take him to ground floor. At the moment the lift door closed. Mrs Wechuli took her mobile phone and texted someone, "Be read he is on his way to the house."

When Mr Mukhongo walked out of the lift he smiled to himself as he checked his passport. They were all ready so he was to flee the country with his only daughter.
