CHAPTER 229:ZERO EXPECTATIONS.
"Woow we are eating marinated chicken today I hope with fried rice?" She asked when she spotted Ivana preparing the ingredients. Now that Ivana didn't ask her what she wanted to have for supper, she decided to suggest her choice if food.
"Do you need help Sis?" She asked when she didn't get a reply from Ivana.
"Sure, help me with cooking rice, if that's what you want to eat for supper. I was to prepared it with stiff meal, hope you know how to prepare?" Ivana asked her.
Mish took the rice from the cabin and measured before starting to prepare for cooking. She didn't reply Ivana.
She felt so bad that Ivana was not even sparing her a glance. 'What kind of bond that exist between them? I am her cousin and she is just a mind. I don't know why Ivana loves her more than me. I need to do something,' she thought.
So get that anger out of her mind and heart for time being before Ivana realizes. She decided to ask Ivana about her fashion line.
"By the way sis(sister) when are you planning to go back to work, I mean your fashion line?," Milka enquired.
"I really don't know,maybe when I am done breastfeeding my boys," she answered.
"You said that you will resume after three months when you give birth. You know you still have an tender of the company. Mish reminded her.
"What? I forgot about that oh my goidness! I don't even know if Milka remembers it. You know they have been making other wedding dresses and gowns!" She said.
Before she gave birth they were concentrating on making wedding dresses and gowns. She didn't remember that they had a tender they have taken from the Luhyahood dream company.
'Is it a must that you mention Milka in everything that I have to tell you!' she screamed in her head.
"You have only two months left to deliver the t-shirts, company shirts and the aprons," Mish said.
"Something funny is that I told the girls (Gloria,Stacy and Nekesa) to take sometime off for time being. Now that I have Milka here with me. They can't be working alone without supervision. Neither can I remain alone with the twins. You know being a first time mother is very stressful. You have to learn everything, especially with the twins, she explained.
"Like I care who told you to adapt the other kid, you should have remained with one," she murmered to herself.
"Did you say something? Ivana asked.
"No, I was, .... I was just thinking that you should leave Milka with the with twins while you go back to work with the girls. I think you can manage to supervise them," Milka replied.
"It's a good idea though, I really don't know if it will be possible to stay away from my boys. Let me finish with the christening and dedication first I will see what I can do. But be assured that I won't fail you in the company tender. You know you played a good part in it," Ivana commented.
"Or Ivana, if you can't stay alone with or without the boys. Then let's go back to the mansion, I think Rhoda will help you do that," Mish suggested.
"No way! The mansion? I can't go back there. You know today when I was coming back from the church. I wanted to go home and pick some ripe mangoes for blending. You won't believe it that my mother in law was seated in the house porch waiting for me!"
"Did you talk to her? Mish asked.
"Fortunately I spotted her before I could enter the compound. When I aligted to open the main gate,I run back to my car and drove away here. I don't want seeing her or meeting her. I Can't go back to the mansion,right now,"she said.
"But Ivana I don't mean to question your decision of hiding the truth from both Mrs Wechuli and your ex-husband but for how long will you do that? How will you take it when they come to learn the truth?" Mish asked surprising Ivana.
"Speaking the truth Mish, I would have liked that woman to know her grandsons, but she was the reason why we divorced with Paul according to me," she said then walked to the cooker to check if the chicken was ready to be marinated.
"Why do you say so?" Mish asked.
"What kind of a mother will encourage her son to cheat? Paul brought Slyvia to her house, She didn't question him. She found out that he cheated on me, and did nothing. Unfortunately some confidential information leaked to the media and what did they do?" Ivana asked as she turned and looked at Mish.
Mish looked at her without an answer, she could feel her pain in her voice but again she was not okay with Ivana not telling her ex- mother in-law and husband about the babies.
"They went ahead to hold the press conference in the compound and something funny they said that I was the one who had leaked that information. Not knowing that the main master mind was Slyvia something else Paul said that I was his former girlfriend. Just because our marriage union was civil one and not a church wedding where some paparazzi could have captured the moment," she explained.
"Maybe he was just angry at you for not giving him time to explain to you,what really happened," Mish said.
Ivana looked at her without really replying because she was not understanding her if she was taking sides or she wanted to know the reason why Ivana can't let her family know about her babies.
"I acted out of emotions and anger, I went ahead and applied for the divorce papers. I thought that he will get surprised and maybe come to ask me why I am divorcing him. Although he knew the reason of cheating on me with his former girlfriend but he would have just pretended that he doesn't know anything," Ivana said.
