CHAPTER 220:ARE YOU MARRIED TO HIM?
After thirty minutes they arrived at home of peace. Ivana instructed the driver to pack outside because she didn't want the kids to be excited yet they haven't carried anything for them.
The driver remained in the car, while Sammy,Ivana and Milka who was still carrying the baby in shawl walked in.
"We are here now, tell me the reason for coming here," Sammy asked worriedly.
"I know you trust me so please be relax and follow me," I ana said as she pulled Sammy's hand.
She knocked on Mama Teresia's office and walked in after hearing a come in.
"Good afternoon Nana Teresia," Ivana greeted her.
"Good afternoon too, have a seat please," She said as she fixed her spectacles to see Ivana clearly.
"I hope you remember me right? I was a lady who come here while pregnant accompanied with Milka," she then chuckled softly.
"You are Milka's boss Ivana right?" Mama Teresia asked.
"Yes Mama," she replied.
"I guess this is your husband you look good together. I never knew that young couple like this one will ever want to adapt a child. Woow I must celebrate and applaud you," Mana Teresia said as she smiled looking at both Sammy and Ivana. Milka was at the reception.
Mama Teresia stood up and said,"Just a minute Ivana let me find that file before I register you," she said then walked out of the office.
Sammy sighed then looked at Ivana, "you want to adapt a child, you didn't tell me. What for Ivana you have a child already," Sammy Said.
"Lower your voice and relax will you? What if she is listening to us?," Ivana said worriedly.
"No Ivana you could have asked me you didn't even...."
Unfortunately for them, that was the first test Mama Teresia gave them. When she said that they were a young couple, she noticed a discomfort and a grown in Sammy. That's why she excused herself and left the office but ended up standing near the office eavesdropping to their conversation.
Mama Teresia had had many of the cases where, people pretended to be couples so that they can adapt the child and ends up selking the child. She didn't want the children home that she runs to turn into a source of children for trafficking.
So she entered and that made Sammy to pause in what he was saying. Ivana looked at Sammy and regretted why she didn't inform him or she had just picked another person who would act as her husband for few hours.
"Mmh Ma'am can you give us a minute, I want to talk to my wife about something before we continue," Sammy said and took Ivana's hand before even Mana Teresa could give them a go ahead.
They walked outside the building and went to an open place away from the office.
"Ivana why didn't you tell me? What is your reason for your adaption. What will your husband think or say when he found out that you adapted a child without his consent?" Sammy asked back to back questions without giving her time to answer.
"Enough please with all this questions, you won't understand why I am doing this. But please act as my husband for this adaption because it's one of the requirements for me to adapt the child," Ivana said.
"I don't understand babygirl!" Sammy said.
"Okay the thing is I have birth to twins, but one baby didn't survive. I don't want remembering that my child is not here with me that's why I want to adapt another child for replacement," Ivana said.
"But Ivana they are not the same age how will the baby not make you remember if he is already grown-up?" Sammy asked.
"No he will be in the same age as mine, Mana Teresia said that the baby is one week with some days old. While my baby is three days old not a big difference," she said.
"So you already confirmed?"
"Yes let's go back please Sammy, I don't want her to be suspecious of us. Can we act as couples please? For the sake of the baby I am going to adapt?" She said while pulling Sammy's hand to follow her back to the office.
When they arrived in the office mama Teresa asked them " Are you married to him Ivana?"
Sammy looked at her then smiled she took her hand and kissed at the back then they replied in unison," Yes Ma'am" surprising Maana Teresia.
"Then why were you arguing?" She asked jokingly.
"We just have a miss understanding because my wife here didn't tell me about adapting another child. But she have explained to me the reason and I am very okay and proud of her ma'am," Sammy replied.
"Okay then, may I have your national identity Card for registration." Mama Teresia said.
Sammy was surprised by that but acted along, she thought that Mana Teresia will give them the form to fill their names. By that Ivana could have written his husband's name, so legally he is going to be the father. So he took his Wallet out and handed her the Identity card,Ivana did the same too.
So Mama Teresia recorded down under Father's mama she wrote Sammy's names as they appeared on the National Identity card while undermothers name she wrote Ivana's names to. She gave them the forms for their signature, she then rubber stamped and photocopied them for future reference.
She filed the original documents both, electronically and the normal way. Then handed them the photocopied firms to them.
"Together with the forms is the medical forms that shows the baby you are adapting is healthy," Mana Teresia said.
Mama Teresia Then picked the office call and called someone to bring in the baby Ian to his office.
"By the way I had already named him Ian, but you are free to change his name. You are his parents now," Mana Teresia adviced.
Ivana looked at Sammy then smiled to herself, she was so happy that say had agreed to support her despite the fact that they are not married. She will forever be grateful to him.
