CHAPTER 119:PRESS CONFERENCE.

Paul read the text message clicked, picked up his jacket from the seat then left without saying anything to Mike.

"Where are you going Paul?" He asked as he watched him leave.

Paul didn't answer as he walked towards the main road and took a taxi back home. He wanted to make things clear before it runs out of his hands. First when he saw those treading topics about him, he thought that Slyvia was behind it but he just confirmed when he texted Ivana.

When he reached home he found Mrs Wechuli waiting for him. She was seated in the house porch facing directly to the gate.

"Will you tell me what conspired between you and Ivana?" Mrs Wechuli asked.

"I have no time for that mum, l think the press conference will be suitable in this matter. It's much far better than the press release."

It only required Mrs Wechuli's call for everything to happen. She was the most celebrated influencial business woman. Now that their business is treatened with Paul's issue, his mother decided to call the mainstream media. In less than an hour the media personnel had arrived in their compound. Paul also called some of his employees, most the head of departments.

When everything was at it's place, Paul was ready to to face the journalist. He walked outside majestically between his mother Mrs Wechuli and his secretary. He was wearing a sky blue suit with a bow tie, golden watch on his wrist, and brown official men's wear.Although he was decked out in designer wear, deep down he was anxious and flustered. He had to face his demons before they eat him alife.

He sat down between his mother and his secretary and press conference kicked off.

"Hello my name is Joel Chala from business news, sir will you please afirm the news that you are still a bachelor?when are you getting married?"

"Although that question is sensitive and personal but ..ah...l wi still answer you. I am married, it was private and l think that's why most of you still thinks that l am a bachelor no l am married." He said nervously as he tried fixing his bow tie that was perfectly fine.

"Then where is your wife, it was allegedly that your girlfriend whom you were planning to marry dumped you because of unfaithfulness and that's why you become a bachelor, will you clarify that?" The journalist bombered him again.

Paul stroked his beards before saying, "it will be best if you find more about it from the person who told you that,next question"

The journalist were surprised as they looked at each other in amusement. If it were not for money they could have left in no time. Some business mogul tend to be moopish and spiteful when they don't want to confirm the truth. But one one of the journalist didn't let that question be answered like that. So he twisted the question around then asked,"Sir do you know Ivana Bombwe?"

"Yes" Paul answered confidently not knowing what is coming next.

"How are you related?" The journalist asked again.

Ivana was resting in her room, since the day she confirmed that she was pregnant. Her doctor, Dr.Masika adviced her to take much rest and to eat more fruits because she was having high-risk pregnancy.

Although she have not shared with her Maid Milka about her being pregnant and worst of all, the high-risk one. Milka have been very careful with her, she already knew that Ivana was pregnant. Milka have been ensuring that every meal that she eats have to be accompanied with fresh mango juice or orange. She sometimes avoids her deliberately so that she can go and rest and so far so good it's working.

So Milka was watching some random shows when it got interupted by the press conference almost every station was covering the press conference. So she opted to watch alone, until she thought of waking up Ivana because it might be important for her to watch.

So she knocked on Ivana's bedroom door before pushing it open. Luckily it was not locked, Ivana was not sleeping but just relaxing on the bed.

"Hey are you sleepy?" Milka asked politely.

"No,"Ivana said.

"Then come with me downstairs you need to see the press conference,Sir Paul is having it right now" Milka said.

"Are you serious?how long have it been?" She asked as she jumped down her bed and walked outside her bedroom hurriedly leaving Milka behind. She descended the stairs faster because she was aware what she had caused.

She was in perfect timing, just when Paul was to answer the question of "how Ivana is related to him"

She wasted no time as she sat down on the couch and increased the volume. She wanted to hear him clearly.

Paul pinched his nose as diminutive particles of sweat were visible on his head.

"She is.. she is" then looked at his mother who was staring at him. Mrs Wechuli nodded to him to go ahead and say, thinking that he is going to say the truth. 

"She is my ex-girlfriend" he said just in time when his mother stood and left the place.

"Then who is your wife?" One of the journalist asked again.

"I won't answer that it's private and l will introduce her to you when the time is right for now let's just know that she is not hear with us."

"So Mr Paul, earlier on you said that your ex-girlfriend is the one who gave this information to the media. You have confirmed the ex-girlfriend is  Ivana Bombwe, will you tell us why she did that?" Joel Chala asked again.

"Ivana is Jelous of my mother and me because her late dad left the company in my mother's name and not hers" he said.

"Which company sir?" John from country media asked.

"I am talking about the Luhyahood Company" he answered.

Mrs Wechuli was listening from the house and he was surprised at how much Paul knows about the company. She was scared of Paul saying what is not supposed to be heard to the media so she come back to her seat infront of the cameras then said.

"I think my son have answered all of your questions and told you what you wanted to know. I appreciate you for answering my call, l am grateful to you all, the press conference will stop there" she said with a fake some on her lips then took Paul's hand to her Palm and left for the house.
