Prologue

Life was hard but being a nice person in this twisted world was harder.

I remembered when I was young. I woke up at five to buy steamed buns and distributed them to our neighbors for extra income. The scraps of money I accumulated that time would be my allowance when school starts at six in the morning.

Raised in the city, everything was expensive. The only thing that wasn't expensive was my parent's salary. My original father left me while my mother married my now stepfather and bore him two daughters and a son.

Being the eldest, I often collected junk and trash on the side of the road from the south of the slums to the north of Metro, approximately ten kilometers during the weekends. I would sell it later to a junk shop and buy my sisters' milk and food with the money I got.

My stepfather was useless. He'd rather spend his money on his women, and often, he was not home.

I was angry, but I couldn't do anything. I was just in high school. Fourteen years old. I thought that it was for the best that he wasn't home. I'd be the one to take care of my mother and my siblings.

Being young, I was full of energy and thought I didn't need to go to school because I was already earning from collecting and selling junk.

Boy, was I wrong after ten years. Without a degree, I left the woman who was my first love because her parents were firmly against me. I couldn't give her a good life even though she was willing to sacrifice that to be with me.

I couldn't do it to her. She deserved someone better.

She still had a special place in my heart, but I am happy with my current girlfriend now.

I had no ambition.

All I wanted was a simple life.

It was enough as long as I had a job and could pay for food and the monthly bills.

Until the world change.

I didn't know what had happened. Neither of us did.

In a blink, we were transported into a world like one of those VRMMORPG games where you have skills and spells and could level up by defeating beasts and bosses and completing quests and what not. But it was set in a timeline that made living difficult!

And to make matters worse, I seemed to acquire a weird system that only allowed me to level up my attributes in a bizarre way.

And now, I was torn between insulting someone and spanking a girl's butt to level up.
