Golden Oak

Four black Rolls-Royce car parked in front of the campus gate. The students and the teachers stopped what they were doing to see the people inside the vehicles.

Students were looking from the window and were both curious and excited to peek. Rumors already circulated on campus that new students would arrive this morning.

"Did you know that the princess and prince of Flousia are coming today?" It was Lea, one of Alira's friend.

Vira nodded. "Yeah, the crown prince's cousins. They are the daughter and son of the king."

"Why do you think Caden was chosen as the next king? I mean, his uncle has a son." Samantha commented while putting on some lipgloss.

"Well, I heard the crown prince was chosen by the elders and the people of Flousia. The King and Queen had no children at the time they needed an heir." Lea said.

A girl with black pigtails and had glasses on came inside their classroom.

"Guys, there are others who will come today!" She exclaimed.

It was Ophelia, the official photographer of Golden Oak High School.

"Boys or girls?" Samantha asked.

"They're girls. Aubrey Tiffany Cross and Natalia Amelie Parker." Ophelia announced.

"Oh, my! The heiress of Cross Airline? Isn't she the girl who was always following Alira's brother?" Vira asked.

Lea nodded. "Yeah. But she left to study in Canada."

"She was a genius. Got accelerated twice and was always on top competing with the Wilson twins."

In Golden Oak School of the Elites, the students were divided into four classes. The Platinum Class, they are the richest heirs and heiress and the royalties in the world. The Golden Class are those living in the limelight, the celebrities and models. The Silver Class where the student's parents are professional workers of those above them. And then there's the Bronze Class who were accepted by scholarships and sponsorships of the elites.

Every quarter, the students would be ranked based on their academics and wealth. The Wilson twins were always at the top. Lucas got the number one spot while Alira got the second.

The new students including the Crown Prince were all in the platinum class. No one knew what they are capable of and no one could figure out why these rich kids suddenly transferred in the middle of the school year.

Men in black suits came out first. Some stood to check if there were any danger. Then one of the men opened the car door.

Everyone waited who would get out of the car. Girls squealed when a guy with black hair and black eyes came out followed by a girl with red hair and amber eyes.

"That's Prince Elijah and his fiance, Lady Natalia!" One of the students said in excitement.

"And I bet that's Princess Elisa. Oh my, beside her is Skyler Jackson!" Another student exclaimed.

Alira's friends' were also peeking by the classroom's window. They waited for the other people in the car to come out and were excited to see Lucas, only to be surprised when a girl with brown hair and green eyes followed him.

"Well, Lea, I think you won't get a chance with Lucas now. There goes the genius girl." Vira teased.

Lea rolled her eyes and glared at the girl who was smiling at Lucas. Truth was, she got closer to Alira because of her twin brother.

"Look, the problem child is now with Stephen Jackson."

They were talking about Caroline who was pouting when she stepped out of the car.

The last to get off in one of the cars were Alira and Caden. Everyone was mesmerized and couldn't believe that the children of the wealthiest families had gathered in their school.

"Do we really have to go to school like this everyday? Everyone's looking." Caroline pouted.

Caden patted his sister's head and chuckled.

"Even without the car, you're already popular." He said.

Caroline blushed. "No, t-that'—"

"You can't lie to me. But from now on, avoid trouble as much as possible. We have to be careful, okay? Stephen will be with you. But today, I'll drop you off at your classroom." Caden smiled.

Caroline glanced at Alira. "H-How about Alira?"

Caden grabbed Alira's hands and then pinched his sister's cheek.

"Of course, she'll come."

Alira wasn't sure if Caroline wanted her to come, but she knew Caden would not allow her to be alone so she just smiled at the two and didn't say a word.

"Lucas! Wait for me!"

Alira looked at her brother walking faster than usual. The girl who was running and shouting behind him was Brie. She felt her brother was uncomfortable with Brie's presence, but he couldn't do anything about it.

"Are you sure they'll be fine? How about switching Elisa with Brie?" She asked Caden.

They were walking back to their classroom after dropping off Caroline.

"You know there's a reason I wanted your brother to be with Brie, right?"

Alira nodded. She knew Caden wanted everyone to get along. Among the group, it seemed they were only one who didn't hate each other.

Lucas hated Brie a long time ago. Elijah's wasn't fond of his fiance. Caroline was against the idea of having Stephen by her side. And Elisa didn't say anything if everything was fine with her. The pairing wasn't perfect, but she trust Caden with his judgment.

After the first period, her friends approached her to ask about the new students. She didn't like being questioned, but she already expected it.

"Our parents wanted us to be in the same high school as them and get along, be friends." She said.

She thought they wouldn't believe her so she was relieved that they didn't ask further.

"Your fiance. There's something in him, something different." Vira commented while looking at Caden who was talking with the guys in the room.

"What do you mean?" She frowned.

"First, his clothing. He always wears a turtleneck top with long sleeves. It's summer now. And second, I heard he submitted a letter to the principal." Vira paused.

"What letter?" She asked curiosity piqued.

"That he won't be joining swimming class. It made me wonder if he has some rare disease or scars in his body?" Vira answered.
