9: Following Santiago?

She was full of hypnotizing charm, of course, she couldn't look into someone's eyes but seems like she ended up looking more suspicious because of her eyes and the person beside her ended up asking her such a ridiculous question.

She raised her head to draw any more suspicion towards her and looked at him. Of course, she didn't look him in the eyes but her eyes were fixed on his nose which was hidden beneath that black mark.

Even if she couldn't see his face, it still gave her the feeling that he was more than something beneath thay black mask.

Santiago was still confused and curious because the woman raised her head after he asked her that question but she still couldn't look him in the eyes. Instead, her eyes were lingering somewhere else...on his nose maybe?

The announcement was made, it was almost time for Nuri to get off the bus at the next station and they were about to arrive.

Nuri heard the announcement and so did Santiago. Well...it was his stop as well. Before this, he had tried to run away from jail many times, but he always got caught because of the eyes of the government which was everywhere. Even today he was not sure if he would be able to escape from them or not.

But here he was, completely fine with no suspicious person around him. It had never happened before that there was no officer behind him to check tabs on him.

However, he was still feeling like someone was watching after him.

The woman beside him was acting surprisingly weird. She had all the traits that a suspicious person would have in them.

After the stop arrived, the bus stopped announcing everyone to get out of the bus as soon as possible. Santiago got up from his seat and headed towards the front door, to his surprise, the woman also walked behind him.

He got off the bus and the woman did the same. And now Santiago had confirmed that she was a spy sent after him to catch him.

But he was not someone to get caught so easily, and she looked too weak, not his match.

' I don't who has sent you, but you will never catch me ', Santiago thought as he started walking in a certain direction.

After he crosses the bridge, he would be out of Mybara city, he just had to get out of there.

Nuri looked around a quick look around the area. ' Hey! You said we are in the future, maybe thousands of years ahead, right? Then how come there are still areas that have not developed at all until now? Did the aliens leave these places on their own? ", She was highly disappointed.

The land where she was standing right now, the last station where the city ends, was a horrifying place at first glance.

Like how that city was overflowing with technology and science, this right here was completely ignored by the government.

She was standing in the air, one look down at the ground and she could only see the barren land with dry soil and sand everywhere. On top of that, there was a big bridge by the side to get down and cross the city border.

It didn't make sense at first but now that she thinks about it, she knew exactly what this guy had in mind.

' Got that. So...where should we head first? Should we go south or should go north? ', She asked looking as if everyone was following the same pattern.

Santiago was now going down the stairs as he was crossing the bridge, he didn't find her following after him when he turned behind. He just saw her standing there floating in the air while thinking something seriously.

' Isn't she supposed to follow me? Did I get something wrong here? Maybe she is just a normal person and I misunderstood her for that bastard ', Santiago ponder.

He was about to stop thinking of her as some spy when suddenly she started walking towards him. No...she wasn't walking toward him. Just like him, she was also crossing the bridge. But he ended up thinking she was after him after seeing her coming.

Nuri was tired from sitting and sleeping, she wish to have some alone time, just her and the fresh air. Even though she has just woken up from sleep, her body was feeling heavy, as if she had been in slumber for years, her body was feeling all rusty sometimes.

' Hey! We are out of the city now, aren't we? I wanna see the real you, you with your whole body and just your voice, can you show up? ', She said.

It's been hours now since she was only talking to him through telepathy and sometimes out loud when no one was to be around. He told her to tell everything in person once they escape the city, they were out now. It was time for him to show up.
