The campfire's reflection danced upon Karina, highlighting the emergence of a powerful force ready to challenge the encroaching shadows.

"You alright fellas?"

Karina asked Cressida and Quilin.

Cressida and Quilin exchanged nods, affirming to Karina that they were holding up. The blood mage, witnessing Karina's emergence from the shadows, displayed surprise at the disruption of his plan. However, his concern was short-lived as he gauged Karina's aura, quickly discerning that she was not an Aeon and thus posed no significant threat compared to his overwhelming power.

Undeterred, the blood mage swiftly condensed a long sword, preparing to launch an attack against Karina. Just as he prepared to launch his attack, a spear out of nowhere propelled at astounding speed, hurtled towards him.

Reacting with reflexive precision, he summoned his blood tendrils to parry the incoming spear. As he tried to parry it he sustained a deep cut on his shoulder.
