Doomsday was coming… An ancient virus was released and changed the whole world… Zombies came to hunt people and purge the earth of humanity... Rochen, one day woke up and found a strange book in his room. The book predicted the apocalypse and what to do in the apocalypse. To make it weirder, the book's writer was said to be himself in the future. Follow the journey of Rochen to unveil the truth behind the apocalypse by using the guidance in his Doomsday Diary.
" Bro, can you reconsider it once more? With you, the survivor group will.." The man tried to convince Rochen. But at this time, the woman opened her mouth again:
"If he doesn't want to, then we should not push him. Even though it was slightly regrettable, we should not force other people to join our survivor group," The woman interjected.
Fortunately, the woman called Ashley was pretty sensible.
Even though they were not able to recruit Rochen, the three still have a pretty enjoyable chat. Rochen, who had long since chatted with other people, felt refreshed, and not long after, he said his goodbye.
All the things that needed to be done had been done, and Rochen and the pair decided to separate. The two parties have their own path, and even if Rochen felt like it wouldn't be long until he met the pair of man and woman again, now was not the time.
He still needed to quickly get a job, and he didn't have that much time left to spare.
The zombies were getting stronger every day, and the emergence of that higher-order first-class zombie had somehow brought an urgency in Rochen's heart.
He was not someone with a big dream to control the world, but at the very least, he wanted to survive in this cruel world.
Rochen walked upstairs, and after opening one of the room doors, he found five zombies inside. Without wasting any more time, he lifted the military knife in his hand and began to massacre the zombies one by one.
His thought was clear now, and all he could think of was getting stronger.
The doomsday diary somehow explained the future events in this world, and Rochen now had a big expectancy of the future.
' I'll be strong, strong enough to face every enemy that would block my path!'
. . . . . . . .
-Later that night-
" Huff-Huff, finally, I'm back."
Rochen, with a body dyed with blood, eventually returned to his own safe place.
Because he was too focused on killing zombies, he had almost forgotten about the time and was almost trapped in the university.
The zombies were getting very aggressive at night, and it was not the best idea to spend the night outside.
Rochen put all his belongings to the ground and immediately took off his clothes, splattered with blood.
Even though he had gotten used to it, sleeping with blood all over his body still felt pretty gruesome.
' Luckily, the target was achieved today.'
Yup, the reason that Rochen had almost forgotten the time was that he was so close to getting to the peak first-class, and he felt it was pretty wasteful to wait for tomorrow.
So he decided to continue to kill zombies like mad, only to face the ambush of another higher-order peak class zombie.
The two battled with all they've got, and eventually, Rochen was revealed to be the winner.
But the win also came with a cost. Because the higher-order first-class zombie was too strong, the battle took a pretty long time, and Rochen had almost spent the night outside of his safe zone.
Rochen took a rest on the floor, and now his eyes were focused on the information panel that he had opened.
.
[ Rochen Danuarta.]
[ Job: None.]
[ Evaluation: Peak first class.]
[ Status: Tired, exhausted, excited.]
.
The change in his status was only a minuscule one word, but that change had made a very wide smile on his face.
The difference between peak and advanced classes was huge, and Rochen could not imagine how big the gap would be after he got a special job.
Just like the name, a special job was a lot better than a normal basic job, and based on Rochen's understanding from the diary, even 10 years later, there were no more than 100 special jobs worldwide.
To get one just by killing a higher-order first-class zombie, Rochen's luck this time could only be said as heaven-defying.
Rochen then changed his clothes with one he had prepared before and quickly tried to sleep. Tomorrow will definitely be a lot more tiring than today as he would be going for a job change, so when he could, he wanted to try to save as much energy as he could.
The following day, Rochen woke up early and took a small bath in the Karaoke lounge.
Water was still working at this time, so Rochen thought, why not as well take a bath? It was true that water indeed was a luxury, but Rochen knew that he could not take all the water here with him, and he definitely wouldn't stay here forever. So might as well spend the water here.
Five minutes later, a fully cleaned Rochen appeared. He was grateful that he chose this Karaoke lounge as his hiding place. After cleaning the zombies at the beginning, the notice reducing wall worked pretty well, and there has been no case of Zombie intrusion since then.
Like usual, Rochen prepared all the belonging that he was going to take for today's exploration and opened the doomsday diary to make sure of his goal once again.
' Today's goal is the job-change altar, and the closest is.... yup, the Monas! It is pretty far from here, about 20km away, so it seems that I need to make a sufficient preparation.'
After the doomsday, many altars like the one Rochen mentioned before appeared throughout the world.
The altar's function was none other than for humans to change or advance their job, and from what the diary had said, the altar was the foundation of human survival.
With the altar, humans could get power imaginable to them before, and it was the sole reason they could survive for ten years.
The altar would give some small task before a human could change his job, and it usually would take one or two days to clear the task. However, Rochen's goal was to change into a special job, and it might take three days or longer to fully finish the special job change.
