C36 - Creating enemies! Wanda and Natasha finally meets!

E/d note: I just found out that this MTL is actually completed and there are about 300 chapters in total! So for all those who were wary whether I'd be continuing this MTL or not, fret not! Because there's an ending!!

~ With Luke, in his apartment in Los Angeles ~

[Hidden Mission unlocked: Enemies of old!]

Upon reaching his apartment, Luke was alerted to the system prompt and was surprised, 'Hidden mission?! System, how did I unlock this?!'

[Due to host experiencing the first natural event in Marvel, host has unlocked a hidden mission.]

Seeing the reply, Luke was still confused about what a 'natural event' was, but he would not deny any benefits given from the system. 'System, show me the mission details and rewards.'

[Hidden Mission: Enemies of old!]

[Mission type: Recurring, Optional.]

[Mission details: Every superhero will have their enemies that remain a constant throughout their lives. Captain America has HYDRA, and Black Widow has the Red Room. As a person with abilities, how can you not have your own enemies to face?]

[Mission task: Create a new enemy to face in the Diary for yourself.]

[Mission reward: After every defeat of the enemy created, you will be rewarded with an ability, as well as an increase of diary holders by 1.]

'I can increase the number of diary holders?! System, do I get to choose who will get to hold the diaries?' Luke asked internally.

[Diary holder allocation will remain random.]

Taking his time to read through the mission once again, Luke could not help but feel excitement that the system would give such beneficial mission to him. 'This is a recurring mission and is optional. That means I won't be penalized if I don't create any villains for myself. But then again, I will be rewarded for every villain I created and subsequently defeat.'

'From the way the mission reward was said, I believe that I can just create one enemy and just repeatedly defeat them to gain the rewards! So, I don't have to keep creating new enemies and can just stick with one!' Luke thought excitedly.

'In that case, I can make the enemy as mysterious as possible, possibly an organization or a cult who would appear from time to time. Something like the League of Assassins from the DC universe.' Luke wondered. 'Moreover, the strength of this new enemy will be completely determined by me! In that case, don't mind if I take some liberties to start the enemy weak! After all, in this diary, I was just a normal person, albeit highly skilled and trained with powerful allies.

After finishing his thoughts, Luke prepared himself to write his newest entry to the diary.

~ With Wanda and Pietro in their apartment in Los Angeles ~

Wanda and Pietro were both sitting on the couch in the living room of their apartment provided by their new 'caretakers'. They were about to order their dinner when they were interrupted by the sounds of a knock on their apartment door. Looking at each other, Pietro stood up as cautiously walked towards the door.

Peeking through the peephole, he was surprised to see the waitress he had seen earlier in the café. 'Is this a coincidence? How'd she know where we live?'

"I can see you looking out through the peephole. Now are you going to open up and talk or do I have to force my way in?" Natasha asked from the hallway.

Pietro, upon hearing her question, was amused. 'Force her way in? How? I've already checked the doors when we first moved in here. Although it's only one lock, this is one hell of a lock to have. Even I couldn't break it open when I tested it.'

"I'd like to see you try." Pietro challenged. When Pietro spoke, Wanda got curious and came up to him. Distracted by his sister, Pietro looked away from the peephole to explain to Wanda on the current situation.

Suddenly, the door was unlocked, and Natasha walked in confidently without closing the door behind her. "You shouldn't doubt a lady." Said Natasha as she walked by Pietro.

Regaining his bearings, Pietro left the door open and stepped in front of Wanda protectively, "Who are you and how did you get in?"

Natasha smiled, amused at the reaction of Pietro to her appearance. 'Good reaction, a little slow but good enough for someone untrained. The door is left open so that they could make their escape if they had to, and his first instinct was to protect his sister. Very good.' Natasha appraised internally.

"Well to answer you, didn't Hill explain that someone would be coming to see you and get you settled here for the time that you would be here?" Natasha decided to entertain the question posed.

"Hill? You're with them? SHIELD?" Pietro asked warily, still not fully trusting of the lady in front of her. "Then why did it take you a long time to get here? And I've seen before in the Peach Blossom Café, you were wearing a waitress outfit."

"Indeed, I am an agent of SHIELD. You may call me Natasha." Natasha started before she turned to look at Wanda, who was behind Pietro with her head stuck out to the side, "As for why it took me a long time, I was waiting to cross paths with you."

"You know me?" / "You know of my sister?" At Natasha's admission, both Wanda and Pietro were alerted.

"Of course I do, in fact I know about the both of you. After all, I'm not only here to see you, but I've also been sent here as your caretaker." Natasha revealed.

Seeing the sibling's dumbfounded expression, Natasha put a smile on her face as she continued, "I will be responsible for your life here and in New York until you turn 18. At that time, you will be considered an adult and will have the freedom to choose what you want to do. But until then, I will be the one in charge."

Natasha gave a wink before she moved deeper into the apartment, "Oh and you might want to close the door. While it was a good move to leave it open so you can make a run for it, you should also consider the fact that I may not be alone and by having the door open, anyone else would be able to come in too."

As Pietro closed the door and followed after Natasha to ensure she didn't do anything to the apartment, Wanda stood by the door confused, 'Why was she waiting to cross paths with me?'
