Jayce's words seemed to go in one ear and out the other as Britney continued to cry.

Instead of trying to force her to listen, he waited it out. He was afraid that if he tried anything, Britney would cry for even longer.

After about ten minutes of nonstop weeping, Britney finally began to calm down.

"If you're not here to kill me," Britney said with a sniffle. "Then why are you here?"

Summoning the contract, he set it on one of the tables in her room and motioned for her to take a seat.

Hesitantly sitting at the table, she picked up the scroll and read through its contents.

"Is this a mage contract?" Britney asked, reviewing the contract again.

'A mage contract?' Jayce thought. 'Oh yeah, I did sign a contract when I fought Isaac before the duel.'
