The two of them sat in silence. Jayce not knowing what to say as he processed Bella's words while she didn't want to pressure him. Eventually, Jayce was the first one to break the silence.
"Don't you have questions?"
"Of course I do," Bella replied. "But if you don't want to tell me anything that's fine too."
"Why?" Jayce questioned. "And don't say because you are my master. We both know that's crap."
Last time, Bella was in the dark and stayed that way because Jayce asked her to. This time was different; she knew that he had a cursed artifact and had even fought against it. She couldn't play the ignorant card and as a mage, her duty called her to kill Jayce right here and now.
Instead of trying to reassure him, Bella leaned back in the chair as she stared at the ceiling.
"Have I ever told you why mages call me the Deadly Nightshade?" Bella asked out of the blue.
"No," Jayce responded, confused.
