DARK KNIGHTS
The excitement was at its boiling point when the king ordered a type of scroll to be brought to him.A servant,a well dressed male,came very quickly and gave the huge scroll to Henry who in turn gave it to the king.He opened it and looked at it as if he was looking for a certain name.'Phew!Her name isn't here.'He thought to himself then adjusted his voice to remove the mucus from his throat.
"As you can see,you have been ranked.Before I start,I would like to tell you the available ranks that you have been set up to.All of you know that the highest knight rank , ofcourse after the Great Commander then the Earls,is the Martial rank.This knights always stay close to the king all the time as you can see,"he said as he pointed towards the ten knights in golden armour behind him."That space has been filled,so the second highest is the Black Pin Knights, followed by Red Knights, Scouts,and lastly White Knights or the guards.
"All of these will be explained to you by the leader of your squad."
The boys and girls actually would have liked to become Earls or Martial Knights,but unfortunately for them they couldn't.
"I'll start by calling out the chosen white Knights...Mark Ember, July Dem,Welbert Sinister..."Almost a hundred names were called.And with each name,the person would groan in disappointment as they hid their faces.The rest were thankful that they were not called, especially Sam who was tensing as he gripped on his chain that was on his right tighter.
"The next are the Scouts,and the chosen ones are as follows..."
He called out the names,and Glen realised that the scouts were not as many as the white Knights.The king continued until he was calling out the names of the chosen Red Knights.
"The following are the chosen Red Knights,Kim Druid,Sam Whiskers,Mercy Healey..."Sam didn't know how to feel,but was satisfied that he wouldn't be wandering the palace doing nothing,he will be out there fighting.And by that,he noted that Glen was yet to be mentioned.
"Lastly,the remaining names are the selected Black Pin Knights.CM..."The king was silent for a moment as he wondered what kind of a ridiculous name a parent would give their child. These were even letters,not a name,"Lucy Bush,and lastly Glen Corbyn."
"There has been a recent request from Sir Rani,the leader of the black pin knights to change the title.He stated that the name sounded ridiculous so he offered a new title for them.I hereby officially change it to the Dark Knights."
They were all confused that only three names were called to be Dark Knights.They also thought that the black pin knights title was made by a lunatic.They wondered how special that sector was for only three to qualify.
"That's it for me today.I will leave you with Henry for further informations."With that the king left with his Martial Knights.
Henry walked to the platform and explained things to the confused teenagers and directed them to their new respective halls.They were divided according to their ranks, then separated,each group to its hall.
In one of the halls, four people shared a table as one of them who seemed to be on his thirties talked to the other three.
"I know this is all new to you but you'll adapt to it quickly.Being a dark knight comes with its freedom and risks. You'll be sent to other kingdoms and stay there as spies. You'll have to climb up the ranks and become as close as you can to the King or Queen of that kingdom.The best thing about this rank is that, you'll be used as assassins and get payed a lot."
"But why are only the three of us selected for this job?It sounds like a task for a group."Lucy asked.
"Actually you are right.This job is for a group,but this time we selected only three because there is this kingdom that had attacked ours.A lot of our soldiers died that night.So king Arthur plans for a revenge without having to waste an army.The three of you will later have a special meeting with the king, he'll tell you what to do."
"Are you not going to be with us?"Glen asked.
"Unfortunately I'll not.Okay,its time to know you guys by names and skills.Let's start with you goldy."He pointed towards Lucy who her cheeks had become slightly red.
"Am Lucy Bush,my perfection is at guns."She said as she patted a hand gun that was on her left."That's cool Lucy."Rani,the leader of the dark Knights praised.
"Am Glen Corbyn,my best skill is based on swords."He became sad when he said this.That day when they encountered the Amphiptere,his armour was ruined.And when he woke up,he did not find either his white sword or even the gauntlets.
"You seem to have no weapon, don't worry about that.The king will provide you three with cool equipments and satisfy your needs.What about you..."He looked at the covered figure.'Is this a boy or a girl?'He asked in his mind.
The person said nothing but just lifted up the sword that was on the right hand up."So your skill is also on swords?I see..."The person shook the head in agreement.
"So I'll just teach you two or three skills that will help you alot.Am sure it will take a whole week.
"But you'll still sleep in the places you are used to. Tomorrow will be the first day training.You'll learn a skill known as the dark slash."With that the three new dark knights stood up leaving the room heading to the canteen for their dinner.
"You are Glen, right?"A girl stopped him just as he had walked out of the hall,"Am Lucy.Nice to meet you."She stretched her hand for a handshake."Yes, am Glen.Aaah...Nice to meet you too."He accepted the handshake offer.
"Friends?"The situation was weird and unfamiliar for Glen at this moment.Never in his life had a girl ever asked him for friendship.And right now,one of them was requesting for one with him.
He wanted to ask for the reason,but looking at the female infront of him,the smooth and soft looking brown skin,her angelic eyes and smile,the shiny lined long blonde hair that almost looked like gold and reached her waist,no way he would resist this.
"Friends."He accepted.
"Where's...CM?"She looked around but the person was nowhere to be seen."Well,if he...she...or whatever gender that person is wants to stay alone,then no problem.One day that person will be the one coming to us."
