chapter twenty three

when Nick stood up and was about to leave, Joan held his hand and said to him

"can you stay for the night" it came as a pleading.

It took awhile for Nick to answer and Joan let go of his hand, he turned to look at her when she removed her hand from his.

Nick looked at her and she looked a little sad,

"ok,"

he can't see her sad

they ate and they showered and went to bed.

Joan turned to face him but he was on his back, she pinched him and signaled him to turn towards her, he turned to face her,

Nick put his one hand under his head with the other stretched towards where Joan's head was and they talked for a while,

Joan place her hand in Nick's and they both watched as their fingers rubbed and played with each other.

Joan smiled and then started talking again.

Joan was talking a lot and smiling

and indeed he missed this, he watched Joan talk and he smiled

"these moments with you, are one of the reasons I smile when I don't even see myself being happy" he thought to himself

"ok now, let's talk about girls"

"what!! girls, what's with that topic?" Nick asked

"uhm.... are you... dating Leticia" Joan asked

" oh!! this is it" Nick said and Nick smiled

"hey! answer me"

"why do you want to know" Nick asked

"uhm ... I'm your BFF and I shouldn't hear from others" she said

he felt a little sad but what was he expecting, he himself didn't know, all he felt was what he knew but the obvious reason he failed to notice that

"so?"she asked again

he removed his hands from hers and pinched her cheek and said

"don't bother about me" he said and turned on his back again

"Why can't you just answer me" Joan asked annoyed and upset

"Joan, let's not talk about this please" he said and closed his eyes

Joan looked upset and angry

"could it be that he's actually dating her" she thought to herself.

Joan kept thinking and out of the blue

""I want to date someone" she said
