Chapter: 33

March 13, 2011, 8:30 AM

Sigurrós's P.O.V.

Sigurrós woke up yawning, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. She slowly climbed out of bed and went to the bathroom to freshen up.

'It's been two days since Aunt Mary started living with us. She's very pretty and nice, and she teaches me a lot of things,' Sigurrós thought as she brushed her teeth.

After finishing her morning routine, she headed downstairs. The smell of breakfast filled the air, making her stomach growl. She walked into the kitchen to find Anafabula cooking, Mary reading a book at the table, and Adrian sipping coffee while glancing at some documents.

"Good morning, everyone!" Sigurrós chirped, her voice bright and cheerful.

"Good morning, Sigurrós," Anafabula greeted with a warm smile. "Did you sleep well?"

"Yes, I did! What are you making?" Sigurrós asked, peeking at the stove.

"Pancakes and bacon," Anafabula replied. "Your favorite."

Sigurrós's eyes lit up with excitement. "Yay! Thank you, Anafabula!"

Adrian looked up from his documents and smiled. "Morning, Sigurrós. Ready for another day of learning?"

"Yep!" she replied enthusiastically, grabbing a seat next to Mary.

"Good morning, Sigurrós," Mary said, looking up from her book. "I have a new lesson planned for you today. We're going to learn about celestial mechanics."

Sigurrós beamed. "That sounds amazing! I can't wait."

As they enjoyed breakfast, the atmosphere was filled with warmth and chatter. Adrian and Anafabula shared knowing glances, their bond evident in the small, affectionate gestures they exchanged. Mary, though new to their home, fit in seamlessly, her presence adding to the harmony.

Later that Morning

After breakfast, Sigurrós spent some time playing with Xylaris, her baby pet dragon. The little dragon flitted around the room, his scales shimmering in the light. Sigurrós giggled as Xylaris nuzzled her cheek.

"You're such a cutie, Xylaris," Sigurrós cooed, petting him gently.

Xylaris let out a contented purr, curling up in her lap. Just then, Adrian and Camile walked into the room, deep in conversation.

"Come on, Camile, just admit it. You like Hye-Jin," Adrian teased, a playful grin on his face.

Camile rolled her eyes, but a slight blush crept up her cheeks. "You're insufferable, Adrian. Hye-Jin and I are just friends."

"Sure, just friends," Adrian said, winking. "That's why you spend so much time together."

"Maybe because she's a good sparring partner," Camile retorted, crossing her arms.

"Of course, of course," Adrian said, chuckling.

Sigurrós watched the banter with amusement, loving the lively atmosphere in the house.

Afternoon

Mary and Sigurrós sat in the library, books and charts spread out before them. Mary was explaining the intricacies of planetary motion, her voice patient and clear.

"So, the gravitational pull of a planet affects its moons in this way," Mary said, pointing to a diagram.

Sigurrós listened intently, absorbing every word. "I think I understand. It's like how Xylaris follows me around because he's attached to me."

Mary smiled. "Exactly, that's a good analogy."

They continued their lesson until lunch, where they joined the rest of the household for a meal. The table was filled with laughter and conversation, everyone enjoying each other's company.

Evening

As the day wound down, Sigurrós found herself sitting in the living room with Adrian, Anafabula, and Mary. They were discussing the upcoming meeting, but the conversation soon turned to lighter topics.

"So, how are you adjusting to living with us, Mary?" Anafabula asked.

"It's been wonderful. You all have made me feel so welcome," Mary replied, glancing at Adrian with a smile.

"And we're glad to have you here," Adrian said. "It feels like our family is complete."

Sigurrós felt a warmth in her heart at Adrian's words. She looked at Mary, feeling grateful for the new addition to their family.

Night

As bedtime approached, Sigurrós got ready for bed, Xylaris curling up at the foot of her bed. She thought about the day and smiled, feeling content and loved.

'Aunty Mary is really nice, and I'm glad she's staying with us,' Sigurrós thought as she drifted off to sleep.

The house was peaceful, filled with the warmth of family and the promise of many more happy days to come.
