"So, we are just some soldiers sent by our race even including children like me." Charlotte's eyes widened. She finally understood why her parents never told her the reason why they came here.
She was only told that they and vampires were enemies and humans were beneath them. That's all they knew.
Brian raised his head from her lap and pulled her head into his chest.
"The past is the past. It doesn't matter what reason you were sent here for. It led us to know each other and finally get together. I feel like this is a blessing in disguise."
Charlotte wrapped her hands around him and said.
"Maybe you are right."
After that, they stayed like that for a while until Brian returned back to his lab once again.
