THE BLACK DRAGON ARRIVAL

Christian stared wide-eyed at the scene that just played before him in total disbelief.

No, there was no way he could believe what just happened!

It couldn't be!

This wasn't happening!

Not now not ever!

'NO, NO, NO!!!' was all he kept on screaming in his head as he was in total denial and disbelief.

'where did it go wrong? I thought it was all over after they all dropped dead, I thought I did it and we were safe, how was I so stupid and dull not to have sensed the presence of one more titan! How, how, how.' Christian thought bitterly as tears gushed from his eyes continually

It was the worst and heart-wrenching pain he had ever felt in his entire life, ever since he took his first breath in this world.

He was in shock and felt a great pain in his heart like it was been stabbed and pierced through by a thousand needles as he stared dumbfounded at the corpse of his mother that laid ahead of him

His world came crumbling down and he fell on his backside and kept on reliving the scene from earlier over and over in his head with remorse and regret.

While he kept lamenting about his ill fate, the culprit behind it was steadily making his way towards him cautiously as he was wary of Christian's ability.

When it got close enough, Christian suddenly raised his head and glared at the approaching titan that was a few good meters away from him.

The titan came to a halt abruptly when it saw the intense hate and resentment that were been displayed in Christian's eyes for it and took a step back subconsciously as a chill was sent down its spine.

The Titan has lived for years and has been on the receiving end of several types of glares from others but none has ever made him this terrified.

He had witnessed first-hand how deadly and devastating Christian's ability was, coupled with the killing intent surging from his body at that moment was more than enough to terrify the titan further making it want to turn tails and run away for fear of its life.

And that's just what it did, it turned on its heels and was about making a run for it.

But could it really escape? After committing one of the gravest sins known to mankind and committed it against the most wrong human of all humans?

"Hell No!!!!"

Christian saw that the titan was about to flee, and he suddenly felt adrenaline rush through his body coupled with a boost in strength derived from his dark ability and he sprang to his feet chasing after the titan.

Although his ability and overall capability were strong, his physical capability and speed were weak when compared to the titan that is of a superior race and has been in a constant countless number of battles and multiple life and death situations.

But that reason alone wasn't good enough for Christian to stop chasing after the titan as he was determined to bring it to its end.

Several meters later into the chase, Christian suddenly held out his right hand in an outward position, pointing it towards the back of the retreating titan, and shot out a ball of dark mist the size of a basketball at the fast retreating titan. Halfway towards it Christian closed his hand into a fist and held it in place.

Having sensed the energy wave of the approaching attack the titan steadied itself to evade it at the right time, but suddenly, it could no longer feel the energy wave coming after it and it seemed to have vanished into thin air without a trace. Taking a peek behind him, it had let his guard down for a second and that was all Christian needed.

Opening his hand the mists resurfaced very close to the titan and headed straight for it at a shocking speed that made it seem almost inevitable to avoid.

But the titan managed to maneuver its body sideways with a speed almost twice as fast as the speed the mist was used to travel at it in avoiding the blow at the last second.

Pulling his hand backward Christian restricted the mist movements from moving forward and attacked the titan from its the side with a speed that equally matched that which the titan had displayed earlier

Seeing the fast-approaching attack, the titan knew it had no means of escape this time around as the speed of the current attack matched his.

It gritted its teeth and helplessly threw out a punch of its own hoping to at least deter the mist from advancing further. Inches away from each other, the mist suddenly split into two parts deviating from the original target as Christian slammed his hands together and attacked the titan from both sides.

Clenching his hands into fists again Christian hardened the dark mists once more before they hit the titan on both sides of its rib cage making a 'crunch' sound, as a clear indication of its bone been broken and it was sent hurtling across the floor.

Swiftly getting back up on its feet, not minding the pain and also taking advantage of the distance created between the both of them, it suddenly sprang forward still trying to make a run for it not even bothering to engage Christian in a fight at all as it feared greatly for its life now that it was injured.

Christian was disappointed when he saw the titan still standing up on both feet and it only angered him further

"just die already" he roared as he summoned more dark ability mists hovering behind him

"Is that your wish?" he heard a sudden voice ask in his head

"Yes I want it dead" Christian roared once more blinded by his bloodlust and rage not even giving a second thought about the voice in his head

"As you wish" the voice replied once more becoming silent.

Before Christian could fully understand the meaning behind those words, he felt his dark ability runes that have been strengthening him this entire time surge out of his body all at once making him limp and fall to the floor breathless and barely conscious.

Hovering above him the ability runes were warbling and wrapping around themselves, taking a solid shape at an extremely fast speed before fully solidifying and sprang upwards towards the sky.

With a vibrantly roar

'ROAR!'

The creature known as the 'dark dragon of the middle ages' announced its arrival to the human world.

Locking onto its target from above the dragon dashed down rapidly at the titan's retreating figure, reaching the titan within the blink of an eye. Using its sharpened claw it slashed at the back of the titan ripping out a huge chunk of flesh and black blood started gushing from the injury on its body while the titan was hurled forward by the sheer pressure of the attack.

Circling around the titan from above the dragon released a breath of raging blue flames towards the titan below as it was burned to a crisp almost immediately after the flames made contact with its skin.

Still laid on the floor, Christian viewed his surroundings and felt a bit remorseful, as there were a few houses on the street that had been set ablaze from the flames of the dragon earlier on.

He settled his eyes on the figure of the titan that laid still on the floor unmoving and he could feel his consciousness slipping as he mumbled

"it's finally over, I did it, mom, I did it" as he felt himself falling into an abyss of darkness once more with a trace of a slight smile on his lips

Sam's POV

After Sam separated from Christian and went his own way, he headed straight for his family's house. He ran across multiple deserted streets that had no signs of a living being around

"Seems like everyone in the high-end areas has all evacuated," he said to himself still running

'but it's better to be safe than sorry he thought and kept on moving forward unhindered.

He passed by the gate of his family's mansion and ran to the door of the mansion. He then placed his hand on the scanner at the side of the door, it glowed with a green color and the door suddenly made a click sound before creaking open

The mansion was vast, and he concluded that it would be a total waste of time for him to head from one room to the other. Instead, he opted for the security room where the camera feed was displayed along with heat motion sensors. He went through the live feeds being displayed on the monitor and checked from floor to floor,  each major area including the servants' quarter. Still, there was no sign of life anywhere within the vicinity or near it.

Satisfied with his search he went to his room up on the third floor of the building then walked to the center. He pulled the rug that laid there, exposing a squared-shaped vault that laid underneath, and picked out his most prized weapon -- 'the twin short blade dagger'. Then headed out of the room.

He ran down the stairway leading towards the second floor and caught sight of a door that was slightly left ajar and was taken aback because he never knew of such room existence in this mansion and he was familiar with the entire layout and never once had he come across it.

His curiosity got the better of him as he was intrigued to find out what secrets the room held within its walls for it to have been locked up and hidden away from sight.

Inside the room, there were three rows of shelves whose contents had been recently cleared out, and a single chair including a table was at the far right end of the room. He was disappointed about not finding anything worthwhile inside the room and turned to leave when he caught sight of something he hadn't taken note of before when he entered the room.

Just after the doorpost, to the left side of the room, there was a hand scanner similar to the one outside the mansion. He was skeptical about it opening up to him after scanning his hand and fingerprints as it could not be enrolled into its database but;

'oh well there's no harm in trying' he thought while shrugging his shoulders before placing his hand on the scanner.

It made a humming sound before beeping twice then glowed a green light across its screen to show that it acknowledged his fingerprints.

He gazed dazedly at space out of surprise and racked his brains for answers as to why it granted access to him.

A podium seemingly rose out of nowhere in the center of the room, just before the first row of shelves, and on top of it laid a clear white beast core crystal that was the size of a basketball emitting a powerful presence with a gentle glow.

He felt attracted to the beast's core as he stepped forward and attempted to touch it, but he quickly refrained from doing so. He looked around the room and spotted a piece of cloth that was hanging off one of the shelves and quickly grabbed it, using it to wrap up the energy core and ran back up to his room, then placed it inside a leather bag and hung it before heading out once more.

Outside the mansion, he started making his way back towards the evacuation center when a deafeningly loud sound resounded from the sky.

Looking up towards the sky what he saw almost made his heart jump right out of his chest in fright as he scampered away and fell on his backside, obviously still shaken by what he saw.

It was a creature that's supposed to be a myth and non-existent!

It was a 'Dragon!'. A creature that only resided in fairytale books and bedtime stories meant for kids was seemingly alive in front of me!

Even though the distance between him and the dragon was great, he could still feel its terrifying presence closer to him than ever as if it was right next to him.

He felt as though its huge eyes were locked unto him even though it wasn't staring at him, neither was it even facing his direction.

What happened next terrified him further and increased his nervousness.

The dragon had suddenly descended from the sky with an astonishing speed, making it seem as though it vanished from sight.

Sam was shaking in his boots, and he was extremely terrified of the overwhelming scene he had just experienced. He was about dashing right out of there, but suddenly he recalled the direction the dragon flew down to was very close to where Christian and his mom resided and there were not many commoners left in these areas as the majority of them had all deserted the land and sought for shelter elsewhere in other lands.

Sam's heart skipped a beat when he suddenly realized that Christian and his mother might be the ones the dragon had attacked earlier as they could be the only ones in the area. He stared in the direction of the lower district and was having second thoughts about his escape.

'oh my heavens, am I really thinking of running towards that thing' he wondered, as he was contemplating about heading in Christian's direction.

He subconsciously did the sign of the cross, though he wasn't religious before running towards the area he saw the dragon flew down to, silently praying for the safety of Christian.

dunno if I should pity the ml right now... imagine trying all you can to save someone that's very important to you, and they still end up dead... that feeling though, is kind of one of the worst feeling that I've personally felt

anyways thanks for checking out this book and updating up till this point, I really do appreciate it.... just please don't forget to spare a power stone for the story

thanks
