Chapter 64

Isabella's POV

We arrived at the base of the mountain in under an hour, and soon enough, lights and cameras were set up, transforming the scene into something reminiscent of a movie shoot. Nigel's sly smirks aimed my way ignited an urge to punch him square in the face.

Deep down, I knew he was merely trying to conceal his fear. His darting eyes, always following my gaze, betrayed his nervousness. His men, too, couldn't hide their unease; they had every reason to be anxious.

As the search for Andreas commenced, a gnawing feeling in my gut told me he wasn't anywhere near this mountain. Oddly, that was a relief. I didn't want him to get caught by Nigel so I hoped to reach him before the Alpha's men did.

Just moments into the search for Andreas, Nigel's phone rang, presumably the Alpha on the other end. After hanging up, he instructed his men to pack up, and I decided it was time to break my silence.
