Chapter 33

Isabella's POV

As I walked side by side with Drey, the sand began to feel cool beneath my feet, and I could just smell the ocean. I could tell that we were close to the great river and excitement bubbled in my heart. We eventually got to the river bank and just the mere sight of the waves brought a sense of calm that resonated in my heart.

Drey found us a cozy spot, nestled between a cluster of driftwood and the gentle lapping of the water.

As the moon cast it's glow over the water, I felt really at peace within myself. Being here felt like I had gotten away from everything. With Drey by my side, it felt like it was just the two of us in the universe.

"Do you hear it?" Drey suddenly asked me. "The whispers of the ocean?"

I didn't answer immediately as I focused my senses into picking up the faintest sounds.

"It whispers calm to the soul", Drey continued and that was when I realized that he wasn't talking about an actual voice.
