Willing Agony

"I knew it."

The Corrupted Wyvern quickly recovered and circled in the air, relentless and intent on finishing what it had started whereas Cole realized that his experiment was successful.

With a staggering effort, Cole rose from the ground, his mind still reeling from the overwhelming pain he had just experienced.

Lurching to his feet, vision swimming crimson, but his right arm, the one sacrificed and reclaimed, felt...whole. 

The Wyvern shrieked a monstrous discordance that tore through the dawn and turned its burning gaze back upon him.

"Fuck this, I'll take you on all alone for all I care!"

Cole wasn't thinking clearly. 

The agony he just went through and the quick recovery his body did messed with his brain, he couldn't discern if he was feeling pain, fear, excitement, or adrenaline.

"Hmph!"
